Dad Fatally ‘Run Over’ at Work While Earning Money for His Kids’ Christmas Gifts

An Oklahoma family is grieving after a 34-year-old father of three was killed in a tragic construction site accident just days before Christmas.

Joshua Gunville-Quach was working at a site in northwest Oklahoma City on December 18 when he was accidentally run over by a skid steer — a piece of heavy construction machinery often used for lifting and moving materials. According to his family, Joshua had taken on extra work “to get his children Christmas gifts.”

His aunt, Katie Gunville, told local outlet KOCO-TV that she had spoken with him shortly before the accident. “To get the news that he was gone was very, very shocking to me,” she said. “I had to tell our family. That was really hard.”

Joshua leaves behind three young children — two daughters and a son, all under 10 years old. His family says he worked tirelessly to provide for them and wanted this Christmas to be special.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has launched an investigation, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.

A GoFundMe created to help support his children and cover expenses has raised nearly $1,000 as of December 22.
