NFL Wide Receiver Shot in the Head After being ‘Stalked’ Outside Club

Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds is lucky to be alive after being shot twice in a terrifying incident last week. The 29-year-old suffered gunshot wounds to his left arm and the back of his head in a shooting that occurred early Friday, October 18, outside Denver’s renowned strip club, Shotgun Willies.

Though Reynolds’ shooting initially flew under the radar, local reporter Alexander Kirk of 9NEWS broke the story nearly a week after the incident. The report revealed chilling details: Reynolds was struck by two bullets while another victim was shot in the back, and a third was injured by flying glass.

Court documents detail the chaotic scene that led to the shooting. According to records, 911 calls flooded in around 3:00 a.m., including one from a driver in a blue Ford Bronco who initially spoke with the dispatcher but abruptly stopped responding, sounding as if he was running. Another call came from a man saying he and his friends were being followed and that two of them had been shot. A third call reported gunfire.

Reynolds and his companions, who had been at Shotgun Willies, left the club around 2:45 a.m., court documents reveal. Soon after, they realized they were being followed by two vehicles. Shots rang out as they were pursued onto southbound Interstate 25. At one point, their vehicle became disabled, forcing them to flee on foot. Police briefly shut down a section of I-25 on Monday as they continued their investigation into the case.

The Denver Police Department has since arrested two suspects, Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza. Charlesworth admitted to investigators that he followed the victims as a “favor” to a friend, though he didn’t elaborate on the specifics of the conflict that led to the altercation. Authorities have not disclosed any direct link between the dispute and Reynolds.

Reynolds, who joined the Broncos with a two-year deal in March, is currently on Injured Reserve after recent finger surgery and did not travel with the team to New Orleans. While there’s no official update on his condition following the shooting, his absence from the roster has been noticed.

  1. Ref: Reynolds shooting.
A perfect example of the moron who is Denver’s Mayor who has cut the police budget to zilch to care for his pet project allowing the illegal aliens to roost in Denver.
Shotgun Willies is located in an enclave of Denver and is not part of Denver but a Home Rule City in Arapahoe County.the “city” has always had a reputation as a go to place for nightlife, and the assorted hooligans who seem drawn to such venues. Glendale has a decent police force and does work closely with Denver. My question is why were they leaving the strip club at 2:45 a.m.. when the Colorado State law say s all patrons must be out of any establishment at 2:00 a.m.. Yet the shooting occurred at 2:45 a.m…But wait this is Denver and any professional team player (Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanche, Rockies) are seemingly above the law. There have been a couple of incidences in the past very similar to this with Broncos players,so this isn’t anything new. I do hope that Reynolds recovers and continues to play football in the future. It sure sounds like a deliberate hit to me. Will be interesting to see what comes out of this.
