Biden Spent Billions on Transgender Monkeys?

Entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are stepping into the spotlight as leaders of the newly minted Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), part of President-elect Donald Trump’s ambitious plan to tackle bureaucratic bloat and rein in federal spending. The task ahead is monumental, and the examples of waste are both staggering and bizarre.

The U.S. government spends an eye-popping $6.75 trillion annually, with $114 billion in increased spending already recorded this year. As the national debt grows, taxpayers are footing the bill for shocking and often laughable expenditures.

Government Waste in Focus

Senator Rand Paul’s annual “Festivus Report” has become a catalog of government absurdity. In 2023 alone, Paul estimated that $900 billion in taxpayer dollars were wasted.

“Every year, we uncover examples of how Washington throws money at problems—or worse, at things that aren’t even problems,” Paul remarked.

Some of the most egregious examples include:

  • Debt Interest: The Treasury spent $659 billion just on interest payments for the national debt, much of it owed to foreign entities like China.
  • Pandemic Payouts Gone Awry: The Small Business Administration (SBA) spent $200 million in pandemic support for “small businesses,” benefiting celebrities like Usher, Post Malone, and Nickelback. Fraudsters even used Barbie doll profile pictures to scam pandemic funds.
  • Frivolous Research: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) approved a $477,000 study giving male monkeys female hormones to study immune responses. Another grant funded a $3.8 million study on “COVID-19 misinformation exposure” in Black and rural communities. And in perhaps the most head-scratching example, Russian cats were put on treadmills to analyze their walking patterns.

Military Mishaps and More

The Department of Defense has also come under fire. According to reports, $169 million worth of military equipment was destroyed after being left outside. The Air Force grossly overpaid for soap dispensers, spending $149,072 more than necessary.

And in another bizarre misuse of funds, Agriculture Department employees used government credit cards to purchase tattoos, cars, and even bartender training.

Empty Offices and Wasted Space

Even federal office space is a glaring example of inefficiency. A March report found that only 12% of headquarters office space is being used. Entire floors sit empty while taxpayers cover the cost of maintenance.

Improper Payments and Baffling Projects

The Biden administration alone accounted for $236 billion in improper payments last year—money sent to the wrong person, for the wrong reason, or in the wrong amount. Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture spent taxpayer dollars studying the rectal temperatures of dogs during summer walks to determine if fur color affects heat absorption (it doesn’t).

Elon and Vivek’s Mission

Musk and Ramaswamy have vowed to overhaul these inefficiencies. Both are known for their disruptive approaches in business and innovation.

“The federal government needs a startup mindset,” Ramaswamy stated. “We’ll identify inefficiencies and cut them at the root.”

Musk echoed the sentiment, adding, “This isn’t just about saving money; it’s about restoring public trust.”

With Musk and Ramaswamy at the helm of DOGE, the stakes are high. Can these entrepreneurial heavyweights turn the tide on decades of government waste? If their past success is any indication, the answer might just surprise Washington.

  3. The problem DOGE will probably run into will be members of Congress resisting the cuts because a donor or constituent benefits from the waste. It’s all about their love of power.
