Nancy Mace Assaulted On Capitol Grounds By ‘Pro-Trans’ Man

South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace has revealed she was physically accosted Tuesday evening on Capitol grounds, allegedly over her advocacy for protecting women’s spaces from trans-identifying men. Capitol Police swiftly arrested the suspect, identified as 33-year-old James McIntyre from Illinois. He faces charges of assaulting a government official.

“I was physically accosted tonight on Capitol grounds over my fight to protect women,” Mace announced on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Capitol Police have arrested him. All the violence and threats keep proving our point. Women deserve to be safe. Your threats will not stop my fight for women!”

Mace, a known survivor of rape, domestic violence, and abuse, has recently drawn attention for her resolution to prohibit biological men from entering women-only facilities in federal spaces. This proposal came as Congress prepares to welcome Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.), the first transgender member of Congress.

“There’s no amount of bullying and threats on my life that they’ve made this week that’s going to stop me from this,” Mace said in November. “I will fight like hell for the protection of women and girls.”

The incident reportedly occurred in the Rayburn House Office Building, a public area at the time. Capitol Police, working with their Threat Assessment Section, confirmed that McIntyre entered through security screening before allegedly confronting Mace.

Mace has been vocal about her stance, stating, “When someone with a penis is in the women’s locker room, that’s not okay. I’m a victim of abuse, I’m a rape survivor. I have PTSD from the abuse I’ve suffered at the hands of a man, and I know how vulnerable women are in private spaces.”

Her resolution has drawn both praise and criticism, highlighting the nation’s broader debates on gender identity and rights. Supporters on social media have rallied around Mace. Senator Mike Lee posted, “Wouldn’t it be nice if @NancyMace didn’t have to work this hard just to avoid having to share a locker room with a biological male?”

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly echoed these sentiments, saying, “Why should @NancyMace or any other female member of Congress have to share their bathroom with a man pretending to be a woman? WOMEN are the ones being bullied into submission.”
