Prince Andrew faces fresh controversy as reports emerge that his former business adviser has been accused of spying. The unnamed adviser, referred to in legal documents as “H6,” has been banned from entering the UK due to national security concerns.

British officials allege the 50-year-old man was a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and secretly worked for its United Front Work Department. This department is known for advancing the CCP’s influence abroad. A special immigration investigation is underway, according to BBC News.
The ban, effective since March 2023, was upheld after H6 lost an appeal on Friday. Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman determined that H6 posed a “risk to the national security of the United Kingdom” and deemed his exclusion “justified and proportionate.”
Close Connections with Andrew Raise Concerns
The disgraced Duke of York, 64, reportedly invited the adviser to his 2020 birthday party and to join the royals at Windsor. At one gathering, the adviser allegedly told Andrew he couldn’t act on his behalf in dealings with potential Chinese investors, as per The Times of London.
A letter found on H6’s electronic device highlights the adviser’s proximity to the prince. One of Andrew’s advisers reportedly wrote, “Outside of [the prince’s] closest internal confidants, you sit at the very top of a tree that many, many people would like to be on.”
Documents also revealed a briefing prepared for a call between H6 and Andrew. It included the note: “IMPORTANT: Manage expectations. Really important to not set ‘too high’ expectations — he is in a desperate situation and will grab onto anything.”
National Security Breach
Officials have described the access H6 had to the royal family as a “serious breach of national security.” The BBC and The Times both report concerns about how deeply embedded H6 was within Andrew’s inner circle.
Buckingham Palace has yet to comment on the allegations.
