Georgia Couple Sentenced to 100 Years for Heinous Abuse of Adopted Sons

A Georgia couple has been sentenced to 100 years in prison without the possibility of parole for the severe abuse of their two adopted sons. William Zulock, 34, and Zachary Zulock, 36, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including aggravated child molestation and sexual exploitation of children, according to the Walton County District Attorney’s Office.

“These two defendants created a house of horrors and put their own dark desires above the well-being of these children,” said District Attorney Randy McGinley in a statement. “The resolve of these young victims over the past two years has been truly inspiring.”

The two boys, brothers now aged 12 and 10, were adopted by the Zulocks through a Christian special-needs agency. The couple, who lived in an affluent Atlanta suburb, portrayed themselves as loving parents. Zachary worked in banking, while William was a government employee, adding to their image of a stable, supportive home.

However, investigators uncovered a disturbing reality behind the facade. Evidence presented in court revealed a pattern of abuse and exploitation. The case began in 2022 after an investigation into unrelated criminal activity led authorities to the Zulocks’ home.

“These children were placed in what was meant to be a safe environment,” said a child welfare advocate who worked closely with the case. “Instead, they experienced betrayal and harm from the very people who were supposed to protect them.”

The case has drawn attention to the critical need for rigorous oversight in adoption processes and the systems designed to safeguard vulnerable children. Advocates are calling for reforms to ensure that such tragedies are not repeated.

“This sentencing sends a clear message that such acts will not be tolerated,” McGinley added. “While nothing can undo the harm caused, justice has been served.”

The boys are now receiving support and care as they begin the long journey toward healing. For many, the case stands as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance in protecting children and ensuring their safety in all environments.
