NJ Teacher Accused of ‘Disturbing’ Threats Against Donald Trump

A New Jersey high school teacher is under federal investigation after allegedly making threats against former President Donald Trump on social media, raising serious concerns about the influence of radical rhetoric in public schools.

Fred Wilson, a special education and social studies teacher at Egg Harbor Township High School, allegedly posted a shocking statement on Facebook: “I think we are at the moment where assassination is at least a talking point.” The post, first brought to public attention by the Libs of TikTok X account, immediately sparked backlash and prompted a federal inquiry.

Secret Service Investigation

The U.S. Secret Service confirmed that they are taking the matter seriously. “The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the incident involving comments made online by a teacher in Egg Harbor Township, NJ,” an agency spokesperson told The Post. “All threats against our protectees are investigated thoroughly.”

Trump, who survived an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania campaign rally on July 13, 2024, remains a highly polarizing figure. The attempt left him with a minor wound and led to heightened security for the remainder of his campaign. This latest incident follows a troubling pattern of hostility toward the 45th president, highlighting growing concerns over political extremism in educational institutions.

Outrage and School Response

In addition to the assassination-related comment, another post from Wilson reportedly read, “F–k Trump and F–k You for Voting for Him.” Many parents and community members are questioning whether someone with such extreme political views should be allowed to teach high school students.

Egg Harbor Township Schools Superintendent Kim Gruccio confirmed that the district is conducting an internal review. “The district is aware of the social media post that is circulating from one of our high school teachers,” Gruccio said in an email statement. “We take comments about and suggestions of violence very seriously. The district is cooperating with law enforcement and conducting an investigation; however, as this is a personnel matter under New Jersey law, I cannot comment further at this time.”

Community Concerns

Local residents expressed shock and frustration at the news.

“Teachers are supposed to set an example for our kids, not encourage violence,” said Lisa Thornton, a parent of two students at Egg Harbor Township High School. “Regardless of your political beliefs, calling for assassination is completely unacceptable.”

Former student David Martinez shared similar concerns. “I had Wilson as a teacher. He was always very vocal about his opinions, but this is taking it too far. It makes me wonder what he’s been telling students in class.”

No Comment from Wilson

Wilson has since deleted his Facebook account and has not responded to multiple requests for comment. Some reports indicate that he has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

With political tensions running high, this case serves as yet another example of the broader cultural divide gripping the nation. As the Secret Service continues its investigation, the question remains: Where should the line be drawn between free speech and dangerous rhetoric—especially when it comes from educators entrusted with shaping young minds?
