Barrett and Roberts Betray Trump in Supreme Court Stunner

In a move that has sent shockwaves through conservative circles, Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett and Chief Justice John Roberts joined with the Court’s liberal justices to deliver a major blow to President Donald Trump’s administration. The ruling forces the government to release $2 billion in foreign aid payments that the Trump White House had sought to withhold.

The Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision effectively upheld a lower court ruling from District Judge Amir Ali, who had mandated that the government honor its obligations under existing USAID contracts. The decision came despite strong objections from conservative justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh.

MAGA Backlash: ‘A Disgraceful Betrayal’

Trump supporters and conservative influencers did not hold back in their criticism, with Barrett facing particularly fierce condemnation. Many within the MAGA movement, who once championed her appointment, now label her as a disappointment, accusing her of aligning with liberal ideology.

Right-wing commentator Paul A. Szypula called Barrett’s decision “disgraceful,” while conservative activist Charlie Kirk added, “She’s turning into a big problem.” Influential voices such as Mike Cernovich and Jack Posobiec even went so far as to suggest Barrett was a ‘DEI’ (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) hire, insinuating that she was appointed for reasons beyond her judicial philosophy.

“She is evil, chosen solely because she checked identity politics boxes,” Cernovich declared. “Another DEI hire. It always ends badly.”

A Shift in the Supreme Court?

Barrett’s vote, along with Roberts’, has raised new concerns among conservatives who had placed their hopes in the Supreme Court’s 6-3 conservative majority. While many expected Roberts to lean left on certain issues, Barrett’s siding with the liberals represents a significant disappointment for Trump-aligned conservatives, who viewed her appointment as a safeguard against judicial activism.

Hans Mahncke, a prominent Substack writer with a strong MAGA following, warned that conservatives must prepare for a battle ahead. “The anti-Trump majority on the Supreme Court may have ruled that the federal government must pay for these USAID projects, but that doesn’t mean the fight is over. We have to shift our strategy.”

What’s Next?

The Supreme Court’s ruling does not specify when the funds must be released, leaving it up to Judge Ali to determine the government’s next steps. The Biden administration and liberal activists are celebrating the ruling as a victory, but conservative lawmakers are already strategizing on how to respond.

Justice Alito, in his dissent, questioned whether a single district judge should have the power to force the federal government to distribute billions in taxpayer dollars. “Does a single district court judge who likely lacks jurisdiction have the unchecked power to compel the government of the United States to pay out (and probably lose forever) $2 billion taxpayer dollars? The answer to that question should be an emphatic ‘No,’ but a majority of this court apparently thinks otherwise,” Alito wrote.

Trump’s Response

During his address to Congress on Tuesday night, Trump briefly acknowledged Roberts, shaking his hand and stating, “Thank you again. Thank you again. Won’t forget it.” Whether this was a sign of lingering confidence in the Chief Justice or a warning remains unclear.

As the conservative base reacts to this stunning decision, the question looms: Is the Supreme Court truly conservative anymore, or has it been compromised? With key 2025 battles ahead, the MAGA movement will be watching closely.

  1. Good lord are the judges supposed to do law or please the president ?
The constitution is their guide not the will of the President.
    What are you thinking?

  2. Neither one of these judges, can be considered conservatives, especially Roberts, has been a turncoat for yrs, and hates Trump. Amy showed right off the bat, she was far from conservative, as the way she votes every time. Both have betrayed fkg common sense ideals and rules. We have a real problem with the court, lately .

  3. Seems, Barrett did not tell the truth when she was appointment! She told everyone she would follow the constitution, she should resign for lying to President Trump and the American people.

  4. and just what would be the consequences of not following the SC ruling? Do they have any authority over the President? I don’t think so.

  5. I’m on the fence with this and here’s why. I’m sure the others voted to please the left. I do believe Barret and Comey were at least trying to follow the law believing a contract is a contract. Here’s where I’m stuck. They may have had good intentions but common sense didn’t prevail it was like a black and white no gray area. My point is this how are they 100% sure the work was completed to deem ot be paid if no one really knew what was supposed to be done? What should have happened is they should have ruled against it and in their dissent explained once all inquiries or investigations are completed and it’sdeemed the work was completed to satisfaction and as agreed then the monies could be paid out.
Until then the money should be withheld. Let’s say they complete the investigations and it turns out the work wasn’t completed what are the guarantees the money will be returned? That’s where I think the common sense approach didn’t take center stage.
