‘Power Rangers’ Actor Dave Mallow Dead at 76

In a shocking loss for American pop culture, veteran voice actor Dave Mallow has died at 76. Mallow, best known for bringing Baboo to life on “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” passed away Tuesday while in hospice care at the MonteCedro Senior Living Community in Altadena, California.

Dave Mallow carved out a storied career that spanned decades. He began in radio, honing his craft in the Midwest and New York City for 12 years. After moving to Los Angeles, he embraced the world of voice acting—a move that would cement his status as a true American icon.

“Dave’s work always reflected the strength and determination of American values,” said a longtime friend. “He carried a spirit of patriotism into every character he voiced.”

From 1993 to 1999, Mallow lent his unmistakable voice to Baboo for 138 episodes of “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.” He later contributed to other series in the franchise, including “Power Rangers in Space,” “Power Rangers Zeo,” and “Power Rangers Time Force.” His talents extended well beyond the Power Rangers universe. Mallow also voiced characters in acclaimed animated shows such as Digimon: Digital Monsters, Naruto, and Yu-Gi-Oh!, and he contributed to blockbuster video games like Call of Duty, Resident Evil, and Final Fantasy.

“He was a master storyteller,” recalled a former colleague. “Even as his health declined over recent years, his passion for his work never wavered.”

Mallow’s passing marks another somber moment for fans of the franchise. He is not the first to leave the Power Rangers family. The tragic suicide of Jason David Frank, the original Green/White Ranger, in November 2022, still echoes among fans. Other key figures—such as Robert Axelrod and Thuy Trang—have also been lost too soon.

“Our hearts are heavy, yet we celebrate a man whose voice became part of the soundtrack of our lives,” a colleague shared. “Dave’s legacy will forever remind us of the resilience and spirit that built our great nation.”

Dave Mallow’s career was a testament to hard work and dedication. His voice not only entertained millions but also symbolized the enduring spirit of American excellence. Conservative audiences, in particular, will remember him as a proud craftsman whose work upheld the values of perseverance and patriotism. His contributions helped shape a beloved era of family-friendly entertainment that continues to influence American culture.

As we mourn his loss, we also honor a man whose passion and integrity set a standard for generations to come. His legacy lives on in every episode, every game, and in the hearts of fans across the nation.
