Hunter Biden Escapes to Lavish South African Getaway on Taxpayer’s Dime

Hunter Biden avoided a high-stakes deposition in California this week, opting instead for an extravagant South African vacation accompanied by Secret Service protection funded by taxpayers, sparking widespread outrage.

Last Thursday, California District Judge Herman Vera dismissed Hunter Biden’s lawsuit against former Trump aide Garrett Ziegler and his nonprofit Marco Polo, after Biden claimed financial hardship prevented him from continuing the case.

But new photos, exclusively obtained by independent journalist Laura Loomer, reveal Hunter was already relaxing in Cape Town at a luxurious seaside villa before the judge’s ruling. The property, priced at $500 per night, markets itself as an “ultra-luxurious designer home with breathtaking panoramic ocean views.”

“This is a blatant abuse of privilege,” Ziegler said Friday. “Hunter Biden assumed the judge—appointed by his father’s administration—would rubber-stamp his request. The system is rigged, plain and simple.”

Hunter, accompanied by his South African-born wife Melissa Cohen, was spotted exploring Cape Town’s upscale shopping district surrounded by Secret Service agents, despite being ineligible under normal guidelines for such protection. Typically, adult children of former presidents lose Secret Service protection at age 16. However, President Biden reportedly issued a special memorandum granting Hunter indefinite protection.

Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi confirmed Hunter’s protection status but refused to comment on specifics. “We can confirm Mr. Biden is an authorized protectee of the U.S. Secret Service,” Guglielmi stated. Local sources suggest Hunter is accompanied by up to 18 agents, staying nearby at premium accommodations. The total cost to taxpayers is estimated to exceed half a million dollars at a time when the agency faces significant resource constraints.

“Hunter Biden’s actions demonstrate his complete disrespect for American taxpayers,” Ziegler’s attorney Jennifer Holliday said. “He’s claiming poverty in court while living like royalty abroad.”

Ziegler intends to submit these photos as part of his request for $200,000 in legal fees from Hunter Biden, originally accrued defending against Biden’s lawsuit related to Marco Polo’s publication of contents from Hunter’s infamous “laptop from hell.”

Hunter Biden previously justified dropping the case, stating financial difficulties stemming from a slowdown in art sales and property losses due to the Los Angeles wildfires. His critics remain unconvinced, demanding accountability and transparency.

“If Hunter Biden can afford a luxurious getaway abroad, taxpayers should not be footing his bill,” Ziegler concluded.
