Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton just declared political war—against a GOP senator conservatives are calling a “swamp survivor.”

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) also backed Cornyn, praising his seniority and role in building the GOP majority.

“Cornyn is one of the most respected conservative leaders in the country,” Thune wrote on X. “We need him to deliver on Trump’s agenda.”

Yet Paxton’s supporters say the endorsements don’t match reality.

“Cornyn voted for gun control, supported endless Ukraine funding, and played footsie with Democrats on border security,” one Texas GOP operative told American Revival News. “He talks MAGA, but he walks McConnell.”
