Tech mogul Elon Musk stunned social media once again with a surprise 3 a.m. post on Wednesday, offering a half-hearted apology to President Donald Trump after last week’s headline-grabbing online meltdown.
“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week,” Musk wrote on X. “They went too far.”
The abrupt climbdown followed days of blistering attacks Musk had hurled at Trump, all triggered by the president’s controversial “big beautiful bill” — a massive government spending package Musk called “a disgusting abomination.”
“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk fumed in one of last Tuesday’s posts. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong.”
But things spiraled further when, by Thursday, Musk accused Trump of appearing in the still-sealed Jeffrey Epstein files.
“Time to drop the really big bomb: (Donald Trump) is in the Epstein files,” Musk posted. “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT.”
That message was later deleted — and now Musk seems to be walking it back, at least partially.
Critics and skeptics were quick to pounce on Musk’s sudden change in tone.
“You said that Trump was in the Epstein files — don’t try to backtrack now,” one user fired off. “Did someone threaten you?”
Left-wing influencer Harry Sisson added, “Are you back to defending someone who you said is on the Epstein files?”
Musk hasn’t offered any further explanation, leaving followers wondering what triggered the early morning remorse.

Well at least Musk is trying to do the right thing by apologizing which shows he has character and that is why Trump chose him to be part of his team. They were great friends from the start and got along well together but ego’s got in the way causing the riff.
