Fighter Jet Scrambles to Intercept Rogue Aircraft Near Trump’s Golf Club in New Jersey

Tensions soared above former President Donald Trump’s private golf resort Saturday afternoon as a U.S. Air Force F-16 was forced to intercept and escort a civilian aircraft out of restricted airspace.

According to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), the small plane breached a no-fly zone near Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster around 2:39 p.m. The military responded immediately with a fully armed fighter jet to confront the unauthorized aircraft — the fifth such incursion into protected airspace just that day.

“The fighter performed a non-lethal intercept known as a ‘headbutt maneuver’ to alert the pilot,” a NORAD spokesperson confirmed. “The aircraft was safely escorted out without further incident.”

The temporary flight restriction (TFR) had been placed over the area due to President Trump’s presence on the property — a common security measure when he’s in residence. Trump, currently campaigning for re-election, was reportedly on site at the time of the breach, although sources say he was not in immediate danger.

Local witnesses described the scene as both “startling” and “surreal.”

“You could hear the jet rip through the sky — it felt like a warzone for a second,” said Tom Hanley, who lives just a few miles from the golf course. “Then we saw the little plane being shadowed away. It was clear something serious had happened.”

This marks at least the third weekend in a row with airspace violations near Trump’s estate, prompting growing concern within the Secret Service and NORAD.

“We’re urging all pilots flying general aviation to review NOTAMs [Notices to Airmen] before every flight,” the agency warned. “There’s no room for error when national security is at stake.”

The White House has not commented, but officials privately admitted they are “concerned” about the increasing frequency of such breaches. Security experts say the pattern suggests a “disturbing lack of situational awareness” in private aviation circles — and raises questions about potential risks to the former president.

“This isn’t just about flying too close to a golf course,” one former DHS official told us. “Every incursion is a chance for something far more dangerous to slip through.”

Trump’s campaign has not addressed the incident directly, though the president did appear later in the day at a closed-door fundraising dinner on the property.

NORAD has confirmed the case is under investigation, and the pilot of the intercepted plane may face penalties ranging from FAA sanctions to criminal charges, depending on intent.

This is a developing story.
