$167.3M Powerball Winner is Tackled and Tased After Attacking Deputy (Video)

Newly released bodycam footage shows the jaw-dropping moment a $167.3 million Powerball winner was tackled and tased by Florida deputies after allegedly kicking one of them in the head.

The April 29 incident unfolded at the TradeWinds Resort in St. Pete Beach, where police say 50-year-old James Farthing — fresh off Kentucky’s largest lottery win — had punched a hotel guest before turning on law enforcement.

The video captures Farthing charging toward a Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputy, who was already restraining another person, and delivering a brutal kick to the head. Resort security immediately jumped in, pinning Farthing against a wall to help the officer.

“I just got kicked,” the stunned deputy radioed in as security yelled at Farthing to stand down. Moments later, the suspect tried to slip away behind a column and make a run for it — prompting a taser deployment and a full-body tackle from another deputy.

Farthing, who can be heard saying, “I’m sorry man, please,” was met with a sharp retort from the officer: “Save your f—king sorries for later.” According to the arrest affidavit, the deputy suffered swelling and redness under his right eye.

The celebration of Farthing’s massive jackpot win — which he split with his mother as an early Mother’s Day gift — quickly gave way to revelations of a lengthy rap sheet. Records show convictions across nine Kentucky counties for crimes including domestic violence, bribery, and drug trafficking.

Police also arrested Farthing’s girlfriend, 42-year-old Jacqueline Fightmaster, in connection with the hotel brawl. Farthing now faces charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, battery, resisting an officer without violence, and violating parole.
