Republican Buys Dominion Voting Renames It ‘Liberty Vote’

Dominion Voting Systems — the company once at the heart of 2020’s bitter election battles — is officially under new ownership and a new name.

Scott Leiendecker, a former Republican election official and longtime conservative donor, has purchased the embattled firm and immediately rebranded it as Liberty Vote, pledging to “bring transparency and American values back to the ballot box.”

“This is about restoring confidence in our elections,” Leiendecker said in a statement Thursday. “As of today, Dominion is gone. Liberty Vote is 100 percent American-owned, committed to secure, paper-based, verifiable elections that every citizen can trust.”

Dominion, once headquartered in Toronto, became a lightning rod during the 2020 election, when then-President Donald Trump and his allies raised concerns about potential voting irregularities involving its software. Though those claims were dismissed by mainstream media outlets, Dominion’s name became synonymous with deep public distrust in the election system — something Leiendecker says he intends to fix.

“For years, Americans have questioned the integrity of our elections,” he told reporters in a follow-up interview. “That’s not a conspiracy theory — that’s a crisis of confidence. We’re here to rebuild that trust.”

The acquisition, reportedly valued in the hundreds of millions, comes after Dominion’s private equity owner, Staple Street Capital, estimated the company’s worth at roughly $225 million before the 2020 vote.

Leiendecker, 49, is best known for founding KnowInk, a St. Louis-based company that provides electronic pollbooks used in dozens of states. A former Republican election director in St. Louis, he has donated to several GOP candidates over the years, including $2,800 to then-Alabama Senate candidate John Merrill in 2019.

Liberty Vote’s new public-relations representation underscores its conservative rebranding. The company will be represented by the Logan Circle Group, a communications firm whose site proudly features images of President Donald Trump and Rep. Matt Gaetz, and promotes an “America First” message.

“This is the kind of ownership change that gives hope to millions of voters who felt unheard since 2020,” said former Alabama Secretary of State Merrill, who confirmed he spoke with Leiendecker about the new venture. “If anyone can restore confidence, it’s someone who actually understands how elections work — not Silicon Valley investors or Canadian executives.”

The purchase also comes amid ongoing legal fallout from the 2020 election. Dominion previously filed sweeping defamation suits against several Trump allies, including attorney Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell. While several cases have since been quietly settled, lawsuits against Lindell and Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne remain active.

Leiendecker has not commented on whether Liberty Vote will continue or drop those cases. However, in his press release, he hinted at a new direction: “We’re focused on the future — not relitigating the past.”

Visitors to Dominion’s old website now see a bold message bearing Liberty Vote’s new emblem and slogan: “Election Integrity. American Made.”

Political analysts note the symbolism is clear: after years of doubt and division, a Republican-led company is taking charge of the very system many conservatives believed had turned against them.

“Trump’s America is ready for transparency,” said one senior GOP strategist familiar with the acquisition. “If Liberty Vote delivers on its promises, this could mark the biggest shift in election confidence since 2020.”
