Rosie O’Donnell’s Daughter Sentenced to Prison

Rosie O’Donnell is pleading for prayers after revealing that her daughter, Chelsea, has been sent to prison for violating her probation in a drug-related case.

According to court records, Chelsea O’Donnell, 28, was sentenced after a Wisconsin judge ruled she broke the terms of her probation — originally handed down earlier this year following multiple drug arrests.

Rosie, 62, told reporters that the situation has been heartbreaking for the family. “I have compassion for those struggling with addiction — Chelsea was born into addiction, and it has been a painful journey for her and her children,” she said. “We continue to love and support her through these horrible times. Prayers welcomed.”

Officials said Chelsea had not shown progress in her treatment program and was terminated from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court. Records also mention a recent sexual assault allegation tied to her probation violation, though details remain unclear.

Chelsea has been in custody since September 9 and is set to be transferred to Taycheedah Correctional Institution, a medium-security women’s prison in Wisconsin. Authorities did not disclose the exact length of her sentence.

Earlier this year, Chelsea was given six years of probation after three arrests in the span of two months — all connected to drug possession and child neglect. As part of her plea deal, she avoided an 18-month prison term by agreeing to stay sober and comply with a treatment court program.

But despite multiple chances and brief jail stays for probation violations, Chelsea repeatedly struggled to stay on track. Her probation violations eventually led the court to revoke her deal and send her to prison.

Rosie, who has been open about her daughter’s long battle with addiction, said she’s clinging to hope that Chelsea can one day turn things around. “It’s been a painful road,” she said, “but we’re not giving up on her.”
