Nascar Star’s Wife Sent Chilling Text Just Moments Before Fatal Plane Crash

The racing world is in shock after former NASCAR star Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, and their children were among seven people killed in a devastating plane crash in North Carolina.

According to People, Cristina Grossu Biffle sent a haunting final message to her mother just before the crash. “She texted me from the plane and said, ‘We’re in trouble.’ And that was it,” her mother, Cathy Grossu, told the outlet. “We’re devastated. We’re brokenhearted.”

The Biffle family — including their children Ryder and Emma — had been headed for a celebratory birthday trip to the Bahamas. The plane, a Cessna C550, was scheduled to stop in Sarasota, Florida, before continuing to the islands. But shortly after takeoff, the aircraft turned back toward Statesville Regional Airport, crashing in a fiery explosion that killed everyone on board.

Among the victims were Greg, Cristina, their son and daughter, family friends Dennis and Jack Dutton, and pilot Craig Wadsworth.

“To think that they would be killed on a birthday trip, that was just such a fun time for the family… it’s just so hard to bear,” Grossu said.

Biffle, 55, was a NASCAR veteran with 19 Cup Series wins and a reputation as one of the sport’s most consistent drivers. The racing community poured out tributes following the heartbreaking news, calling him “a legend on the track and a family man off it.”

The families of the victims released a joint statement thanking the public for their prayers and asking for privacy as they grieve. “Each of them meant everything to us,” the statement read. “Their absence leaves an immeasurable void in our lives.”

Authorities are still investigating what caused the plane to turn back and crash.
