Hunter Biden Turns on His Father in Explosive Interview

In a shocking and deeply personal interview, Hunter Biden—once a staunch defender of his father—lashed out at Joe Biden’s legacy, calling the 46th president’s record on immigration and foreign policy a catastrophic failure.

Speaking for over five hours on The Shawn Ryan Show podcast, the 55-year-old didn’t hold back.

“We need vibrant immigration,” Hunter said. “But we don’t want immigrants that are coming here illegally, draining us of resources, and being prioritized above people that are actual, literal heroes.”

He directly criticized the Biden administration’s refusal to enforce the southern border, which saw a staggering 2.4 million immigrants enter the U.S. annually under Joe Biden, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Of those, a 2024 Goldman Sachs analysis estimated 60% crossed illegally—many released under catch-and-release or paroled into the interior.

For many Americans—especially veterans and working-class families—Hunter’s words hit home.

“This country is built on immigration, but we’re not built to reward people who break the law to get here,” said retired Marine Sergeant Jack Morano, who served in Helmand Province. “I never thought I’d hear Hunter Biden say it out loud, but he’s finally seeing what the rest of us lived through.”

In a moment of political irony, Hunter acknowledged that then-candidate Donald Trump derailed bipartisan immigration reform in 2024 by threatening to primary any Republican who backed it.

“Trump stepped in six months before the election and told [Republicans] he was gonna primary every single one of them that voted for that,” Hunter claimed. “Because we’re addicted to the problem.”

It was a blunt admission—perhaps unintentionally praising Trump’s ability to outmaneuver Democrats and control the GOP’s direction on border security.

President Trump, now in his second term, has since reinstated strict executive orders to combat illegal immigration. That includes rebuilding portions of the wall, reactivating Title 42 expulsions, and deploying National Guard units to assist border states.

The former first son didn’t mince words when asked about the Biden administration’s infamous 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan—a retreat that ended in chaos and the deaths of 13 U.S. service members during a suicide bombing at Kabul airport.

“It was an obvious f—ing failure,” Hunter said. “I can blame it on his generals… but my dad always knew this also: the buck stops with him.”

Though Hunter said he supported leaving Afghanistan after 20 years, he expressed agreement when host Shawn Ryan called the operation a disgrace.

“I hear your anger about that,” Hunter replied. “And I don’t have any response to it other than… 20 years was enough, and it was not in the interest of anyone in the United States [to stay].”

That sentiment is unlikely to bring comfort to the families of the fallen or veterans who watched the Taliban retake the country in less than two weeks.

Republican lawmakers wasted no time seizing on the interview.

“Even Hunter Biden knows Joe Biden’s presidency was a disaster,” Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) posted on X. “Trump fixed the border. Joe Biden broke it.”

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) added, “When your own son publicly admits you failed America, it might be time to stop pretending you were ever fit for the job.”

With Joe Biden’s influence dwindling and the 2028 race already heating up, Hunter’s remarks could signal the final unraveling of a presidency many conservatives view as defined by weakness, chaos, and misplaced priorities.

For now, President Trump continues to press forward—cleaning up what many see as the consequences of the last administration.

“I said it back then,” Trump told reporters earlier this month. “The Biden border was a disaster. Afghanistan was a disgrace. The American people deserve strength—not surrender.”

Hunter Biden, it seems, now agrees.
