Ohio Woman Says Pro-Trump License Plate Made Her a Target in Shooting

An Ohio woman says she feared for her life after bullets struck her car during a late-night drive home — and she believes her pro-Trump license plate is the reason she was attacked.

The driver, identified only as Jody, says the shooting happened Monday on the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway in Cincinnati. She had just left work when a black car with dark tinted windows pulled up behind her at high speed.

“It was tailgating me hard,” she said. “I remember thinking, something is off here.”

She hit the gas. That’s when she heard it.

“Pop. Pop. Two shots,” Jody recalled. “I knew something hit my car. I didn’t know what. But the second it happened, the guy sped off like he didn’t want anyone seeing him.”

At home, she and her husband inspected the vehicle. They found two small, round dents on the right rear bumper. The marks looked like they came from a small-caliber firearm.

Her conclusion: someone tried to shoot her because of her personalized plate — one that reads MAGAGRL.

“It scares me that a license plate could set someone off like that,” she said. “People yell things. People flip me off. Whatever. Words don’t hurt. But pulling a weapon? That’s different. That’s dangerous. And now I’m thinking, what if the shots were higher?”

Jody says this wasn’t the first time her car was targeted. She has dealt with angry gestures, honking, and people shouting at her in traffic. Nothing like this. Not even close.

“I never thought someone would take it this far,” she said. “It makes you wonder what we’ve come to as a country. Disagreeing is one thing. Trying to hurt someone is something else.”

Police in Springfield Township confirmed the report was filed Tuesday. No arrests have been made. Investigators have not yet said whether they believe the shooting was politically motivated.

Incidents involving political bumper stickers and plates have become more common in recent election cycles. Law enforcement agencies across the country have reported rising tensions between drivers displaying campaign-related slogans on both sides.

For Jody, the fear is still fresh.

“I keep thinking about how it could have ended,” she said. “All because I support the president. That’s not supposed to happen in America.”

  4. I have a sticker inside my trunk window that reads, I LOVE TRUMP. I had it on my window since Trump was President the first time! No one said a thing to me. Then again I would not let them. I stick up for Trump. I would never be intimidated!

  5. Surely this must be a mistake. The peaceful, loving members of the progressive/socialist woke party would never promote such activity.
