Waitress Who Accidentally Started Swiss Bar Inferno Found Dead Inside

A chilling new detail has emerged from the deadly bar fire that tore through a Swiss ski-town hotspot: the waitress seen moments earlier holding sparklers inside the packed venue was one of the people killed in the blaze.

Her name was Cyane Panine. She was only trying to entertain the crowd at Le Constellation in Crans-Montana. Minutes later, the entire room was consumed by fire.

Investigators now believe the sparklers Panine carried may have triggered the catastrophic blaze that exploded across the wooden ceiling. Witnesses say the flames spread so fast that people didn’t even have time to scream.

“It was instant,” one survivor told reporters. “The ceiling just ignited. We ran for our lives.”

Panine didn’t make it out.

The shocking images taken before the fire show Panine wearing a crash helmet and smiling as she carried sparklers during a celebration. Authorities say those images are now haunting proof of the moments before disaster struck.

A police official said the firestorm was unlike anything the region has seen in years. “It was a flashover event,” he said. “A full room engulfed almost immediately. Our teams could barely get inside.”

Fire investigators say the combination of pyrotechnics, low ceilings, and dry wood created a deadly environment. Swiss fire consultant Daniel Moret warned that these kinds of setups are “ticking time bombs” in nightlife destinations.

“One spark hits the wrong spot,” he said, “and you have seconds before the entire structure becomes an oven.”

Locals are devastated. Panine was known as friendly, upbeat, and dedicated to her job. Many are struggling with the cruel twist that she may have accidentally caused the fire that ended her own life.

“She was always trying to make people happy,” a coworker said. “Now everyone here is shattered. It’s unbearable.”

Swiss prosecutors have launched an aggressive investigation. They are looking at possible criminal negligence, illegal pyrotechnics, and whether the venue ignored safety protocols. Officials say charges are very possible once the timeline is clear.

The bar, once a lively après-ski favorite, is now a blackened shell. A memorial of candles and flowers grows outside its doors as the ski town grapples with a heartbreaking truth: a celebration turned into a deathtrap in seconds, taking the life of the woman holding the sparks that may have ignited it.

“She never saw it coming,” a friend said. “None of them did.”
