Push to Ban Team USA After Venezuela Strike REJECTED

The International Olympic Committee has shut down a global campaign to punish the United States after President Donald Trump’s military operation captured Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro.

The decision was a major blow to the anti-American coalition demanding that U.S. athletes be thrown out of the upcoming Winter Olympics.

The IOC said no. And they said it fast.

In a statement, the committee made it clear: the Olympics won’t be used as a weapon against the United States.

“The Games cannot become a tool of geopolitics,” the IOC declared. “Athletes cannot be punished for the decisions of governments.”

For many Republicans, the ruling was a rare moment of common sense on the world stage.

Global critics erupted after Trump authorized a rapid strike that ended nearly a decade of socialist chaos in Venezuela. Maduro’s capture brought down one of the most corrupt regimes in the Western Hemisphere — a regime propped up by drug traffickers, Cuban intelligence, and far-left ideologues around the world.

A Venezuelan freedom activist told us, “President Trump did what no one else had the courage to do. He freed our country.”

But some foreign leaders immediately tried to turn the victory into an Olympic punishment.

Their effort collapsed.

The IOC reminded critics why Russia’s ban happened. Russia invaded Ukraine just days after the 2022 Beijing Olympics — directly violating the Olympic Truce. It even forced Ukrainian athletes under the control of the Russian Olympic Committee.

That, according to Olympic insiders, was a clear-cut violation.

The U.S. strike on Maduro broke no truce, no treaty, and no Olympic rule.

One American official said, “These calls to ban Team USA were nothing but anti-American theater from countries that hated Trump’s success.”

Demands to exile Israel from the Olympics over the Gaza conflict also failed. The IOC said Israel followed the charter and met all requirements.

“It’s simple,” one IOC member said. “If you follow the rules, you compete. If you don’t, you don’t. Politics won’t decide that.”

Ironically, the only country in danger of Olympic punishment is Indonesia. The nation denied visas to Israeli athletes and violated the Olympic Charter in the process.

The IOC cut off all conversations about Indonesia hosting major events. It even warned organizers worldwide not to schedule competitions there.

Israel says Indonesia is lying about its reasons.

“We were fully cleared to travel,” the Israel Gymnastics Federation said. “Indonesia broke the rules. Not us.”

Experts say banning the United States would have blown up the Olympic movement. The U.S. supplies a massive share of Olympic revenue, viewership, and athletic talent. Without America, the Games collapse.

A former Olympic executive said, “Removing the U.S. would be the end of the Olympics. Full stop.”

The IOC chose stability. The critics lost. And Team USA marches on.

Trump’s supporters call it exactly what it is — a win for American strength.
