Candace Owens is escalating her war with Turning Point USA — and she’s now taking direct aim at Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative powerhouse Charlie Kirk. The political commentator revealed she received a cease-and-desist order, then blasted the organization’s leadership on her latest YouTube broadcast.
Owens said the legal threat only convinced her she’s “hitting a nerve.”
According to Owens, the document arrived earlier this week. She wasted no time turning it into a spectacle.
“You’d have better luck keeping the sun from rising than stopping me from digging into Charlie Kirk’s assassination,” Owens told her viewers. “Honestly, send a cease-and-desist to the sun. Let me know how that works out.”
She claimed her attorney asked how she wanted to respond. Owens said she told him, “Ask them how much money they want. Just name the number.”
Sources close to TPUSA say the cease-and-desist followed repeated pressure from Owens to reopen discussions surrounding Charlie Kirk’s unexpected death on September 10, which authorities previously ruled non-criminal. Owens has continued suggesting otherwise, despite no evidence.
One conservative strategist familiar with the feud told Radar, “This is turning into a political soap opera. And Candace is writing her own script.”
Owens then turned her attention directly to Erika Kirk — now chairwoman and CEO of Turning Point USA.
“Erika, my girl. Heavy is the head that wears the crown after its rightful owner was deposed,” Owens said, in a remark many interpreted as a swipe at the power shift after Charlie’s passing.
Owens complained about the legal approach.
“It’s gay to send someone a legal letter. It just is. Pick up the phone. Call a person. People can admit when they’re wrong.”
The remark immediately sparked blowback online, with critics accusing Owens of using the moment to provoke controversy rather than address the underlying conflict. Owens has not apologized.
During her monologue, Owens insisted Turning Point USA was trying to silence her as she continues pushing theories that Charlie Kirk was targeted.
“The contract stuff is done. This whole idea of lawyering up to control people — it’s dead on arrival,” she said.
She then challenged the organization directly:
“How much is this worth to you? Would you like all your money back? I can raise it in a night. People care about the truth.”
Owens vowed to continue asking questions about Charlie Kirk’s final hours. “Americans want to know what really happened on September 10,” she said.
Law enforcement officials have repeatedly confirmed nothing suspicious was found.
This feud marks a surprising reversal. Owens and Erika Kirk actually met late last year for what was described as an emotional, hours-long conversation meant to smooth things over.
Owens later said the meeting “thawed tensions” and helped them share information and clear misunderstandings.
“I think we both feel it should have happened earlier,” Owens said in a post at the time.
Insiders now say that whatever goodwill was built during that meeting has “completely collapsed.”
A friend of the Kirk family told Radar, “Charlie tried to unify people. He would hate seeing this. But Candace isn’t backing down, and Erika is protecting her husband’s legacy. This is only getting uglier.”
