Chilling Surveillance Photos Emerge in Disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Nancy

A mystery gripping the nation just took a dark turn. Investigators have released eerie new surveillance images capturing a masked, possibly armed figure outside the Arizona home of Nancy Guthrie — the mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie — just hours before she vanished.

The FBI confirmed the photos were recovered from “residual data” after the home’s recording devices were reportedly tampered with. The images show a person in a mask with covered hands and what appears to be a gun holstered at the front of their belt.

FBI Director Kash Patel said the photos were previously “inaccessible” but were pulled from backend systems after days of digital recovery. He urged anyone with information to contact authorities immediately.

Savannah Guthrie shared the images on Instagram, pleading, “We believe she is still alive. Bring her home.” She included the FBI tip line and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department number.

Nancy, 84, has been missing since February 1. She was last known to be at home after being dropped off by her son-in-law. Her keys, phone, and wallet were found inside the house — but Nancy was gone.

Savannah rushed to Arizona as the search escalated and has been posting emotional updates. “We believe in prayer… we believe in hope… above all, we believe in Him,” she wrote. She asked followers to lift her mom in prayer and “believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”

The case took another dramatic turn after investigators confirmed Nancy’s home was a crime scene, with blood reportedly found inside. Multiple ransom notes soon followed — one fake, one considered potentially credible. The real note demanded roughly $6 million in Bitcoin. Savannah and her siblings said they were willing to pay, but a second deadline passed on February 9 without any movement on the linked crypto account, according to TMZ’s Harvey Levin.

Authorities have since searched septic tanks near Nancy’s home and the residence of Savannah’s sister. But so far, no sign of Nancy.

Savannah remains steadfast, saying the family still believes their mom is out there — and they aren’t giving up.
