Bill Clinton Denies Knowledge of Epstein’s Crimes: ‘I Did Nothing Wrong’

Former President Bill Clinton returned to the hot seat this week, delivering a fiery and defensive appearance before the House Oversight Committee as lawmakers under President Donald Trump push for full accountability in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. The once-dominant Democrat leader arrived visibly irritated, blasting the committee for subpoenaing his wife, Hillary Clinton, whose own deposition turned chaotic after repeated clashes with investigators.

Republicans say this is the first time both Clintons have faced real scrutiny over their long-documented ties to Epstein. And for the first time in years, Bill was forced to sit through a line of questioning he has spent decades avoiding.

“Let me make something clear before we begin,” Bill snapped at lawmakers. “Hillary shouldn’t have been dragged into this. She had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. Nothing.” He insisted she had “no memory” of meeting the disgraced financier and accused the committee of political theater.

A senior GOP aide in the room described Clinton’s tone as “panicked” and “on edge,” adding that the former president “looked like a man trying to rewrite his own history in real time.”

As Republicans laid out photographs, emails, and travel records showing Clinton’s repeated interactions with Epstein, the former president grew defensive.

“I know what I saw, and more importantly, what I did not see,” he said. “I did nothing wrong.”

He dismissed the documented plane rides, parties, and private meetings as benign, insisting he had “no idea” Epstein was committing crimes.

Clinton then attempted to paint himself as a would-be whistleblower.

“If I had known, I would have turned him in myself,” he said. “I grew up in a home with domestic abuse. I don’t tolerate that kind of thing.”

Republicans were unmoved. One member of the committee argued that Clinton was “trying to create emotional distance instead of factual answers.”

The controversy stems from years of documented interaction between Clinton and Epstein, including:

• At least 26 flights aboard Epstein’s jet
• Seventeen logged visits by Epstein to the Clinton White House
• The presence of Epstein’s partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, at Chelsea Clinton’s 2010 wedding
• A bizarre oil painting of Clinton in a woman’s gown discovered inside Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse

Committee Chair Rep. Mark Dalton said the public record is “far too extensive for Clinton to wave away with nostalgia and selective memory.”

“Either Clinton didn’t ask questions, or he didn’t want the answers,” Dalton said.

The late Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most vocal accusers before her death last year, wrote in her unpublished memoir that Clinton was the honored guest at a private dinner on Epstein’s Caribbean island. Her account remains one of the most disputed pieces of testimony in the case.

Clinton again denied ever setting foot on the island.

“That never happened,” he said sharply. “Period.”

Yet newly unsealed communications show Epstein himself souring on Clinton years before his own downfall. In a tense email revealed by investigators, Epstein accused Clinton of “contradicting himself” and claimed he ended the friendship, not the other way around.

“He swore with conviction that he had done something,” Epstein wrote. “Only to swear the opposite weeks later.”

The hearing ended with Republican members vowing to continue the probe, promising Americans the full truth after what they describe as decades of media protection for the Clintons.

“Bill Clinton keeps saying he saw nothing,” one GOP investigator said after the hearing. “But the American people saw plenty. And we’re finally in a place where facts matter more than political royalty.”

With President Trump pushing federal agencies to reopen long-dormant Epstein-related files, the Clinton defense strategy may face even harder tests ahead.
