Jill Biden to Drop Shocking White House Tell-All

Former first lady Jill Biden is preparing to release a new memoir about her years in the White House — and the announcement is already raising eyebrows in Washington.

The book, titled View from the East Wing, is scheduled for release June 2 and promises an inside look at the turbulent final years of the Biden administration. In a video posted to Instagram Wednesday, the 74-year-old former first lady teased that the public has only heard part of the story.

“Parts of this story have been told, but not all of it,” Biden said in the announcement video.

One detail immediately caught the attention of political observers: the video featured no appearance from former President Joe Biden.

The memoir will reportedly explore the dramatic summer of 2024, when Joe Biden stunned the political world by announcing he would not seek a second term. At the time, the decision reshaped the presidential race and cleared the path for the eventual return of Donald Trump to the White House.

Jill Biden said the book reflects on what that moment meant personally for her and her family.

“I wrote about all the sometimes painful — but mostly beautiful — moments Joe and I shared during his presidency,” she told the Associated Press, describing the writing process as “kind of cathartic.”

But Washington insiders say the memoir could reveal far more than sentimental reflections.

During her time in the White House, Jill Biden kept a personal diary, according to a source close to the former first lady. That journal reportedly served as a foundation for the book — fueling speculation that the memoir could offer a detailed behind-the-scenes account of one of the most chaotic periods in recent political history.

Questions also linger over whether she will address the issue that dominated headlines in 2024: Joe Biden’s declining public performances and the disastrous debate against Donald Trump that accelerated pressure for him to step aside.

Journalists Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson previously described Jill Biden as part of an inner circle — dubbed a “Politburo” — that critics claimed increasingly managed the executive branch as the 46th president’s abilities came under scrutiny.

Those claims have never been fully addressed by the Bidens.

Former aides have said Jill Biden was deeply involved in managing her husband’s schedule and public appearances and was known to express frustration when staff mishandled events.

The memoir may also reopen old wounds within the Democratic Party.

Jill Biden reportedly holds grudges against several high-profile Democrats who pushed Joe Biden to abandon his 2024 reelection bid. Among those who publicly or privately pressured the president to step aside were former President Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and even Hollywood actor George Clooney.

There is also long-standing tension between Jill Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris dating back to the 2019 Democratic primary, when Harris sharply criticized Joe Biden’s record on civil rights during a nationally televised debate.

Whether the former first lady chooses to settle scores remains to be seen — but observers note that she has expressed admiration for Prince Harry’s explosive memoir Spare, a book famous for its candid and often brutal revelations about the royal family.

Money could also be a factor behind the new project.

Financial disclosures in 2024 showed the Bidens carrying personal debts estimated as high as $815,000. Meanwhile, Joe Biden’s son Hunter has accumulated millions in legal bills from multiple investigations and court cases.

Joe Biden previously secured a $10 million advance for his own memoir, which has yet to be released.

Since leaving the White House in early 2025, the former president and first lady have not seen the typical flood of lucrative board seats and corporate speaking offers that often follow a presidency.

Jill Biden currently chairs the Milken Institute’s Women’s Health Network and has written several books, including two children’s titles and her 2019 memoir Where the Light Enters.

But with View from the East Wing, she may be preparing to deliver the most politically explosive account yet of the Biden years — and potentially shed new light on the political collapse that reshaped American politics and paved the way for President Trump’s return to power.
