A wild new prophecy theory is stampeding across social media as the U.S. and Israel pound Iran — and it’s got people staring at Iran’s flag like it’s a coded warning label for the end of the world.

The viral claim: Iran’s red, white and green stripes “line up” with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse from the Book of Revelation — the ominous riders tied to conquest (white), war (red), famine (black), and death (a pale, sickly color often linked to green). The problem? Iran’s flag doesn’t have black. Not even close.

So conspiracy-minded posters are trying to patch the hole with today’s headlines: if the black horse is “famine,” they argue, the missing stripe is basically showing up as skyrocketing costs — driven by war panic, energy turmoil, and threats around the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most sensitive oil choke point.

But here’s where the internet frenzy collides with real-world fear: the International Energy Agency says this war has sparked the largest oil supply disruption in history, with global supply in March projected to drop by about 8 million barrels per day — a shock tied largely to Hormuz disruptions.

And the Hormuz drama is only getting louder.

Iran’s newly installed supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has been publicly framing the Strait as leverage — with Iranian leaders demanding “compensation” and floating closure as a pressure tactic.
