Stephen Colbert ‘Being Erased’ at CBS

Stephen Colbert may still be on the air for a few more weeks, but sources say the late-night host is already being quietly wiped from CBS headquarters.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is scheduled to air its final episode on May 21. But according to multiple insiders, photos of the 61-year-old comedian have already been removed from CBS’s broadcast center on West 57th Street in New York City.

The move has reportedly left some staff stunned.

“It’s like he was never there,” one source claimed. “Like The Late Show never existed at all.”

Insiders say the changes go beyond just removing photos from the building’s walls.

According to reports, members of Colbert’s staff have also been cut off from company-wide CBS email communications, effectively removing them from internal updates within the network.

“That’s the clearest signal it’s truly over,” another source said.

The Late Show team was also reportedly left out of a recent company-wide town hall meeting.

And if anyone was expecting a big farewell celebration for the long-running late-night show, sources say that likely won’t happen either.

“There will be no sendoff,” one network insider said, adding that CBS has no plans to organize or pay for any official goodbye party for the show or its staff.

“If the staff wants something, that’s on them,” the source reportedly said.

Even an unofficial farewell gathering might be awkward, according to insiders.

Several prominent CBS personalities — including Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil, Norah O’Donnell, and Anderson Cooper — are reportedly unlikely to attend any farewell event for Colbert.

The cold reception comes as The Late Show has reportedly struggled in the ratings recently.

According to reports, the program had its weakest January ever among viewers aged 25 to 54, averaging about 285,000 viewers in that key demographic.

  1. Why do you say he was a comedian ? He never was, nor is Jimmy Kimmel, when either of them come on a channel I’m watching it instantly gets changed. They are both toxic. If you can’t say something nice hold your tongue.

  2. Since Jay Leno I have found that none of the “late night” alleged comedians were very funny if at all. The best “late night” show I’ve been watching is Gutfeld. He has different folks around him and he nails all politicians and he’s FUNNY!

  3. What is wrong with CBS’s management. Even if they let Colbert go they could use his popular program to maintain their viewership. It feels a bit like cutting off their noses to smite their faces.

  4. Too bad the show is going to May 21. Can’t stand the show. Wish they would take him off now.
