8 Chick-fil-A Workers Fired Over ‘Viral’ Dance (Video)

What started as a fun, after-hours moment quickly turned into a full-blown controversy.

A group of Chick-fil-A employees claims they were all fired after appearing in a viral TikTok video that racked up millions of views—and now social media is split over whether the punishment went too far.

The now-viral clip, posted in late March, showed a night-shift crew dancing inside the restaurant to “Wanna Mingle (feat. Deediephat Da Godmother)” by Mvntana, Nasi Wonder, and Vybez Music Group. With the caption “my CFA crew better than yours,” the video spread like wildfire across TikTok, drawing attention far beyond their local store.

But just days later, the mood changed.

The creator returned with a shocking update, claiming that all eight employees featured in the video had been let go.

“We got fired. Every single last one of us got fired,” the employee said in a follow-up clip.

According to him, the video was filmed after closing hours, with no customers inside the restaurant. He said the group had planned the video together during their shift and that everyone involved was on board.

“It’s a Chick-fil-A, but it’s not a real deal Chick-fil-A,” he added, suggesting the location may operate differently than a standard franchise. “No one was in our establishment. We were closed.”

He also claimed he would have taken the video down if it caused problems—but by the time concerns surfaced, it was already too late.

“The video got posted on Friday … and y’all hit me up on Sunday to let me know that I was fired,” he said.

While the exact location hasn’t been officially confirmed, social media clues point to a restaurant connected to Tuskegee University in Alabama. Others who say they worked at the same location have backed up the claim in comment sections, saying the entire group was terminated.

Online, reactions have been intense—and divided.

Some users say the punishment doesn’t fit the crime, arguing that a warning or write-up would have been enough.

“I mean a write up would’ve sufficed! I don’t think y’all should’ve gotten fired,” one person commented.

Others even argued the video worked as free promotion for the brand.

“I thought the video was a good advertisement tbh. Made me want some cfa but nvm now,” another wrote.

So far, Chick-fil-A has not publicly confirmed the firings or provided details about what may have led to the decision. Requests for comment have reportedly gone unanswered.

Now, the viral moment that once looked like harmless fun has turned into a debate about workplace rules, social media, and whether going viral is sometimes just not worth the risk.

And one question is still hanging in the air—did the internet just cost eight people their jobs?

  1. After hours activity in any establishment may also leave the company open to lawsuit if someone is injured during the activities or if the filmed activity results in someone’s feelings get hurt or some person or group is opposed to the language or body movements depicted in the video. In today’s environment, people are getting sued for anything and everything. The lawyers are loving it.
Having said all of that, firing the employees may be a bit extreme.
