In a crushing blow to Hamas, the terrorist organization acknowledged on Friday its “painful and distressing” losses following the elimination of its notorious leader Yahya Sinwar.
This admission comes as the Israeli military released gripping drone footage that captured Sinwar’s final moments. The video shows a wounded Sinwar hurling a wooden board at an Israeli drone as it surveyed the devastation caused by a targeted strike in Rafah, as revealed by IDF Spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari.
Sinwar’s reign of terror came to a decisive end when he was discovered dead, armed with a gun and carrying nearly $11,000. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) had relentlessly pursued him as part of their mission to dismantle Hamas leadership.
Senior Hamas official Basem Naim, in a defiant response, claimed, “Yes, it’s very painful and distressing to lose beloved people, especially extraordinary leaders like ours, but what we are sure of is that we are eventually victorious.” Naim dismissed Israel’s belief that taking out top commanders will break the terrorist group’s grip on Gaza, insisting that their “liberation movement” cannot be snuffed out.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a different message for the people of Gaza: “Hamas will no longer rule Gaza. This is the beginning of the day after Hamas, and this is an opportunity for you to finally break free from its tyranny.”
The Israeli Army Radio confirmed that Sinwar was killed during a firefight after Israeli soldiers identified suspected terrorists in Gaza and launched a strike, leaving the building in ruins. Among the rubble, they found Sinwar—once a symbol of terror, now a fallen figure whose demise marks a critical moment in Israel’s ongoing fight against Hamas.
Sinwar’s death serves as yet another milestone in Israel’s relentless quest to eradicate the Hamas leadership, signaling a clear message that no terrorist figure is beyond their reach.
