New Royal Scandal Sparks Calls for Monarchy to Be Abolished

The British monarchy is in hot water, and angry citizens are demanding its end. Recent revelations show that King Charles III and Prince William are profiting from run-down rental properties that are making tenants’ lives miserable.

A shocking report from RadarOnline reveals that support for the monarchy is at an all-time low.

According to the latest British Social Attitudes survey, only 54% of Brits believe the monarchy is “very” or “quite important,” marking the lowest level since 1983. Back then, a whopping 86% supported the crown. The decline has been steady; in 2012, 76% still favored it.

Prince William oversees the Duchy of Cornwall, a massive estate worth $1.7 billion, inherited when his father became king after Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022. With more than 600 rental properties, William raked in $31 million last year alone—on top of taxpayer funding. Frustration is brewing online, with one Twitter user blasting, “They are sitting pretty in their palaces… while ordinary people struggle!”

Tenants living in these royal properties have complained of shocking conditions, with reports of black mold and dampness since 2020. One tenant described their home as “miserably cold,” stating that mold has spread to their clothes and furniture. Another tenant said, “You can see through the roof,” highlighting the dire state of repairs. Meanwhile, nearly one in seven rental homes owned by the Duchy has failed energy efficiency standards, rated F or G—below the legal requirement for rentals in the UK.

Despite William’s recent campaign advocating for “everyone having a right to a safe and stable home,” critics are unimpressed. One tenant remarked, “The slick PR will stick in the throat of many tenants.”

A spokesperson for the Duchy claims they are committed to improving living conditions, stating, “We are a responsible landlord… addressing energy efficiency.” However, the actions taken thus far have done little to quell the growing unrest.

As calls for the monarchy to be “consigned to the dustbin of history” intensify, one thing is clear: the royal family’s grip on the hearts of the British people is loosening. The monarchy may have to reckon with a new era where the public demands accountability and transparency.
