Ellen’s UK Home Floods After Fleeing America

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s idyllic English escape has turned into a watery nightmare. The couple’s newly acquired multimillion-pound farmhouse in the Cotswolds has been engulfed by severe flooding following Storm Bert, leaving their 43-acre property underwater after the River Thames burst its banks.

A Picturesque Retreat Drenched in Chaos

The Cotswolds, known for its rolling hills and celebrity residents, has been battered by torrential rain that has left roads submerged and homes isolated. Many residents are stranded, with floodwaters reaching five feet in some areas. “The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I’ve seen it in years,” one local resident near the couple’s property told The Daily Mail.

The flooding comes just as DeGeneres and de Rossi were settling into their countryside retreat. Reports suggest the couple relocated to the UK following Donald Trump’s re-election victory over Kamala Harris, feeling “disillusioned” with the political climate in the United States.

From Hollywood Glamour to English Turmoil

DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased the Cotswolds estate as part of their plan to permanently relocate abroad. The duo, married since 2008, reportedly plan to sell their Montecito, California mansion. Sources close to the pair have claimed they intend to “never” return to the U.S. on a permanent basis.

The former talk show host was a vocal supporter of Kamala Harris during the election, even donating to her campaign. Trump’s victory, sources told TMZ, prompted an immediate decision to “get the hell out” of the country.

Despite the challenges, DeGeneres and de Rossi had been enjoying their new English life. Just weeks before the flood, they were seen at a local pub in Burford, with DeGeneres debuting a brunette hairstyle.

Celebrity Neighbors and Rising Tensions

The Cotswolds, a haven for the wealthy, is home to other A-list residents, including David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, and Elizabeth Hurley. However, the tranquility of this luxurious countryside has been shattered by Storm Bert, which has left fields, roads, and homes across southern England submerged.

Flooding in the region has added stress to what should have been a peaceful retreat. As water levels continue to rise, the couple faces an uncertain future in their new home.

Community Resilience Amidst Crisis

While Ellen and Portia adjust to the realities of English weather, local communities in the Cotswolds are rallying to help one another through the devastation. With the floodwaters showing no immediate signs of receding, the couple’s dreams of an English refuge may be delayed—but not drowned entirely.

  1. I guess climate change must have followed her, eh? No worries. FEMA will help…oops. It’s the UK, and these aren’t even citizens. I’m sure there are plenty of English construction and flood specialists who wouldn’t think of taking unfair advantage of the recent arrivals. 🙂

  2. I really shouldn’t smile at this. But, after all the things she said about us and our wonderful country, I can safely agree to calling it karma.

  3. We have always loved Trumps comments when Ellen made the big announcement that she would never invite him to be on her show. His great response……. “Sir , I would never want to be on your lousy show!!” Love it!!
