Disgraced Fauci Releases New COVID Paper

Dr. Anthony Fauci has ignited fresh controversy with a newly published paper addressing the origins of COVID-19 and his handling of the pandemic. The former White House medical advisor reasserted his claim that the virus emerged naturally while also reviving a contentious allegation about former President Donald Trump.

In the paper, Fauci wrote, “Abundant evidence from top evolutionary virologists and leading scientists in other fields strongly suggests that the virus jumped species from an animal reservoir to humans at the Huanan Market in Wuhan, China, and then spread throughout China and the rest of the world.”

Conspicuously absent from his analysis was any mention of the Wuhan Institute of Virology or the lab-leak theory, which has gained significant traction in recent years. Critics argue that Fauci’s reliance on sources tied to the Proximal Origin paper—a document that previously sought to discredit the lab-leak theory—raises questions about the impartiality of his conclusions.

Trump Bleach Allegation Resurfaces

Fauci’s paper also reignited a political firestorm by accusing Trump of promoting “unproven and potentially dangerous substances for COVID-19 prevention and treatment such as bleach injection.”

The comment references a widely publicized 2020 press conference where Trump speculated about potential treatments, asking if ultraviolet light or “almost a cleaning” inside the body could neutralize the virus. While the remark was widely criticized, Trump later clarified that he was not advocating for injecting bleach but posing a question to medical experts.

Jerry Dunleavy, a journalist and frequent Fauci critic, blasted the claim on X (formerly Twitter), saying Fauci’s account was “false” and accusing him of recycling a debunked narrative.

Timing Raises Eyebrows

Fauci’s paper comes as President-elect Trump has named Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a staunch Fauci critic, to lead the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in his upcoming administration. Bhattacharya, a Stanford University professor and one of the authors of the 2020 Great Barrington Declaration, has been an outspoken opponent of Fauci’s pandemic policies, particularly the lockdowns and closures.

Bhattacharya has accused Fauci and former NIH Director Francis Collins of silencing dissent during the pandemic. Speaking to Fox News earlier this year, he alleged that the two had “created an illusion of scientific consensus around their ideas and marginalized anyone that disagreed with them, even though there wasn’t a scientific consensus.”

Fauci Under Fire

Critics of Fauci argue that his dismissal of alternative theories about COVID-19’s origins and his pandemic management represent a broader abuse of power within scientific institutions. Bhattacharya has described Fauci’s leadership as emblematic of this issue, saying it reflects “an abuse of power by American scientific bureaucrats at the very top of our scientific bureaucracies.”

The paper is likely to fuel further scrutiny of Fauci’s role during the pandemic as Trump’s administration promises significant shake-ups in federal health agencies.
