Lola Sheen, the 19-year-old daughter of Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards, is embracing a fresh start after what she describes as a turbulent period in her life. This week, the young star opened up about how overcoming her struggles has deepened her faith in Christianity, leading her to take the meaningful step of being baptized.
Lola is the youngest of the couple’s two children. Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards, who met while filming Good Advice in 2000, married in 2002 and welcomed Lola after their older daughter, Sami. Despite their divorce in 2006, the two have continued to co-parent their daughters. While Charlie Sheen’s romantic life has had its own highs and lows, including marriages to Brooke Mueller and relationships with other women, Denise Richards later married Aaron Phypers. Today, Lola lives with her mother and stepfather in Malibu.
This week, Lola took to Instagram to share a powerful message about her personal transformation, posting a series of photos from her baptism. In the caption, she described the deep depression she endured and how it led her to rediscover her faith.
“I hit rock bottom, and in that moment, I realized I was so lost and hopeless,” Lola began. “I was doing my best just to make it to the next day, accepting that this was my life forever, thinking I’d never laugh again.”
However, during her darkest moments, Lola found hope through her relationship with Jesus. “I can’t really explain it other than it was supernatural,” she wrote. “But Jesus met me exactly where I was, and He forever became my sun. He loved me when I didn’t feel worthy of love and gave me a light when I couldn’t find my own.”
Lola continued to reflect on how her faith gave her strength to overcome anxiety and find joy again. “Jesus fulfilled His promise of making me new, and completely renewed my mind. He is the reason I’m here today, and He made my life worth living.”
The teenager, who first rose to fame in 2008 with her appearance on Denise Richards: It’s Complicated, has since launched a faith-based podcast and YouTube channel, Heavily Bonded.
Lola’s decision to publicly declare her faith through baptism marks a new chapter in her life, and she’s grateful for the strength Jesus has given her. “I made it through this year only by the strength of Jesus,” she wrote. “I’m so happy to step into this new year, publicly declaring Jesus as my Savior. I am forever saved by His grace, through Faith. I thank you, Jesus, for everything, and I love you. I hope you are proud of me.”
