Trump ‘Dismantling’ Biden’s 11th-Hour Behind-the-Door Move

President Donald Trump is making good on his promise to restore order at the border, revoking deportation protections for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans. This decisive move coincides with a breakthrough agreement ensuring that Venezuela will take back its illegal migrants—marking a major victory in Trump’s broader immigration crackdown.

“We Are Taking Our Country Back”

After years of leniency under the Biden administration, the Trump White House is reversing course on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that more than 300,000 Venezuelans, who received TPS in 2023, will lose their protected status within 60 days of the official notice.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, a fierce advocate for stronger immigration enforcement, declared, “We are stopping the abuse of programs meant for temporary relief. President Trump is committed to protecting American workers and upholding the rule of law.”

Venezuela Agrees to Take Back Its Nationals

Trump also announced a breakthrough deal with Venezuela, ensuring the swift removal of illegal migrants, including dangerous gang members.

“Venezuela has agreed to take back its illegal migrants, including members of Tren de Aragua,” Trump stated on Truth Social. “They will also provide transportation back. We are deporting record numbers of illegal aliens from every country, and every country is now cooperating.”

This marks a stark contrast to the Biden years, during which Venezuela had intermittently refused to accept deportees. Now, with Trump’s leadership, the socialist regime has been compelled to comply.

A Hard Stance on Immigration

Republicans have long been skeptical of TPS, arguing it has been exploited as a backdoor amnesty. Under Biden, the program ballooned to include 17 countries, overwhelming communities with waves of new arrivals. Trump’s first term saw reductions in TPS designations, and his second administration is doubling down on enforcement.

“No more loopholes. No more excuses,” said White House border czar Tom Homan. “The Trump administration is restoring common sense to our immigration system.”

Border Crackdown Intensifies

Trump’s immigration policies are rapidly taking shape. In addition to ending TPS for Venezuelans, his administration has:

  • Deployed 1,500 military personnel to reinforce border security.
  • Revoked parole programs that allowed mass migration from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
  • Expanded detention facilities, including discussions on utilizing Guantanamo Bay for deportees.
  • Cracked down on asylum abuse, limiting claims to genuine cases.

Meanwhile, top administration officials are reinforcing the message. On Sunday, Secretary Noem visited the southern border, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio is touring Latin America to solidify regional cooperation on deportations. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is also heading to the border on Monday to assess military involvement in border security.

The Bottom Line

Trump’s firm hand on immigration is delivering results. With TPS protections revoked and Venezuela now cooperating, deportations are set to surge.

“This is about national security, law and order, and putting Americans first,” said Noem. “President Trump promised to secure our border—and he’s doing just that.”
