Former Olympian and outspoken Republican Caitlyn Jenner has thrown her support behind Donald Trump’s latest executive order, igniting a storm of debate online. The order, signed earlier this week, bars transgender women from competing in female sports at federally funded schools.
Speaking from the White House, Trump, 78, delivered a fiery speech: “We will defend the proud tradition of female athletes. From now on, women’s sports will be only for women. The war on women’s sports is over.”
The executive order directs the Department of Education to warn schools that allowing transgender athletes to compete in female categories violates federal law. Institutions failing to comply risk losing federal funding. “If schools let men take over women’s teams or invade their locker rooms, they will be investigated,” Trump declared. “No federal dollars will support this assault on female athletes.”
Jenner, a former Olympic decathlon champion and one of the most famous transgender athletes, stunned many by praising the decision. “Another victory in the fight to protect women’s sports!” she posted on X, formerly Twitter. “President Trump is keeping biological men out of women’s sports! As an Olympian, I will continue lobbying sports bodies worldwide to follow our lead.”
Her comments left some followers bewildered. Jenner, who came out as transgender in 2015, has long championed conservative policies despite criticism from LGBTQ+ activists.
“Caitlyn, you are so confusing,” one user replied. Another asked, “As a trans woman, are you okay with them erasing trans rights?”
Yet, many conservatives praised Jenner’s stance. Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines, a vocal advocate for banning transgender women from female sports, called Jenner’s endorsement “a powerful statement from someone who understands the stakes.”
This isn’t Jenner’s first show of support for Trump. After his victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, she posted a celebratory message with a photo alongside Trump and Elon Musk. “These two men will save Western civilization,” she wrote. “Let’s Make America Great Again!”
Despite support from Jenner and conservative groups, enforcing the ban may prove difficult. Legal experts note that defining “biological sex” for policy enforcement remains a challenge. Title IX, the federal law at the heart of the issue, prohibits sex-based discrimination in education, and interpretations have varied under different administrations.
Transgender advocate Chris Mosier warned of troubling implications. “Anti-trans bans rely on sex testing and body policing,” he said. “This will harm all female athletes who don’t fit a narrow definition of femininity.”
With lawsuits looming and public opinion deeply divided, Trump’s executive order is poised to become one of the defining battles of his presidency.

Maybe you might but I am not getting that close!
Bruce is still confused.
He/she is right. Trans should only compete in their DNA Certified Test results gender category.
She knows how unfair it really is!!!
You go girl stand your ground.
I respond before further reading the “Click Bait” about Caitlyn Jenner. I have occasionally heard Caitlyn’s commentary ever since the transgender sports competition got into the news. Is her approval of Trump’s actions with her knowledge of physiology as a former athlete surprising? She has consistently disapproved of former males competing in Women’s Sports.
After 2000 years, all of a sudden this is a problem? Maybe mentally. When mothers say all their children are transm their friends children are trans, the problem is a mental mother problem. NO child should be subjected to any hormone shorts or surgeries until they are of the age of concent which is 18. If you want to compete in sports you take a physical, sometimes have blood drawn. At that point you can have a Certified DNA test and the results say which gender you will compete in, end of discussion.
Why is Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner’s response confusing?
He has female children. He was a winning Olympian swimmer (as a male) and he knows that male hormones increase the body mass in males (XY’s) and make it impossible for female (XX’s) to compete against them.
What an individual wants to present as is of no concern to me, as long as they don’t compete in athletic events where strength (muscle mass) makes a difference.
It’s about honesty and fairness.
Jenner also spoke out against the biological XY male- William Thomas -competitive swimmer who pretended to be a girl -Lia Thomas, competed against top notch XX female swimmers who had been training all of their lives for the competition….only to have the XY male beat them (and only by a hair-really embarrassing himself). He wrongfully stole the 1st place award ceremony from the XX females who deserved it.
he has got nothing else to do. Why doesn\’t he go and spend time at McDonalds
