CNN Star Calls Republican a ‘D***’ Live on Air During Heated CNN Debate (Video)

CNN’s Anderson Cooper found himself in hot water Tuesday night after an on-air outburst in which he insulted former New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu. The heated exchange erupted during a discussion about Elon Musk’s controversial budget cuts within the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency.

The tense moment unfolded on AC360 as Sununu defended Musk’s sweeping cost-cutting measures, which aim to eliminate billions in alleged wasteful spending. Musk, who was in the Oval Office earlier that day with President Donald Trump, outlined several examples of government mismanagement.

“It was surreal,” Sununu remarked about the press conference. “But what’s not being shown here is that Musk rattled off seven specific cases of fraud and abuse right off the top of his head.”

According to Sununu, Musk cited examples like a federal contractor paid for two decades despite having only a three-month contract and welfare benefits still being issued to a deceased person supposedly 150 years old.

Cooper, clearly skeptical, fired back: “He doesn’t present any actual evidence.”

Sununu wasn’t having it. “He’s standing there in the Oval Office. Do you expect him to show up with 10,000 pages of documentation in his hands?” he shot back. “This administration is being extremely transparent. The reports are online. Anyone can review them.”

CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin then jumped in, casting doubt on Musk’s claims. “That’s just what they’re saying. Where’s the proof?”

The discussion grew more heated when Cooper challenged Musk’s numbers, specifically his claim that FEMA spent $59 million on luxury hotels for migrants in New York City.

Sununu pushed back hard. “You’re talking about FEMA money being abused for migrants. That’s OK now?”

Cooper, clearly agitated, snapped, “Don’t put words in my mouth.”

Sununu refused to back down. “Would you stop that? Would you stop that process?”

That’s when Cooper lost his composure entirely. “Don’t be a d–k,” he blurted out.

The segment continued for another five minutes before Cooper issued a hasty apology, acknowledging that he had been “rude.” Sununu, however, took it in stride.

“Are you kidding? I grew up with seven brothers and sisters,” Sununu said with a laugh. “I’ve been called a lot worse. Honestly, that’s one of the nicest things I’ve been called all week.”

The moment highlights the growing tension between the mainstream media and those advocating for major government reform. With Musk at the helm of a new initiative to slash wasteful spending, the battle over accountability and transparency is only just beginning.

  1. Gloria\’s little boy throwing a tantrum because he didn\’t get what he wanted. Sounds just about normal at CNN.

  2. Anderson Cooper is one of the most disreputable people in msm. Not that any of them have any honor or abilty to tell the truth. I hope they all get locked up for lying to the public for decades.

  3. If we lived in a true democracy, all registered Democrats would have automatic payroll deductions funding USAID. The rest of us would be exempt

  4. Really now. Does anyone out there really give a fig about anything broadcast-ed by CNN? I remember, years ago, when it was the go-to place to keep pace on national and international happenings. I traveled constantly and was in and out of airports 5 and 6 days every week. And each time I landed and had a gap between flites, one of the first things that I and many others did was find a seat near a TV monitor to catch up on things. Not any more.

  5. Anderson seems like a very nice person. He probably should host a game show instead of doing news, as he appears to be quite naive.
