“There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long, Tesla,” Crow wrote on Instagram, where she shared footage of herself parting ways with the car.
Crow, known for her hits and outspoken political views, specifically targeted Musk’s role as head of the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency under President Donald Trump. The agency, a cornerstone of Trump’s second-term agenda, has been a lightning rod for controversy, with critics accusing Musk of wielding outsized power over key government functions.
The nine-time Grammy winner isn’t just making a statement—she’s putting her money where her mouth is. Crow pledged to donate the proceeds from the Tesla sale to NPR, an outlet she says is “under threat by President Musk.” She added, “The truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth.”

She recently criticized fellow musician Jason Aldean for what she called “promoting violence” in his song Try That in a Small Town.
