NFL Legend Rips Officials After Trans Runner Blows Away Female Competition

NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre is drawing a line in the sand—again.

This time, he’s calling out Oregon high school officials after a transgender athlete crushed the competition in a girls’ track meet, setting new season records. And he’s not holding back.

“Shame on all the officials,” Favre says

At a recent Portland Interscholastic League meet, McDaniel High School’s Ada Gallagher—who identifies as female but was born male—dominated both the 200-meter and 400-meter sprints, sparking fresh controversy across the country.

“This shouldn’t be okay,” Favre posted on social media. “Shame on all the officials who would allow this.”

Gallagher’s performance triggered immediate backlash. Many saw the results not just as unfair, but as a wake-up call.

“This is exactly why we need laws protecting women’s sports,” one Oregon parent told Northwest Patriot News, asking to remain anonymous. “My daughter works her tail off and then gets blown out by a biological male. It’s heartbreaking.”

Favre’s not new to this fight

The legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback has been a vocal critic of transgender athletes competing in women’s divisions. Back in 2021, Favre called New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard’s Olympic inclusion “flat-out unfair.”

Just last month, he cheered on President Trump’s executive order banning biological males from participating in women’s and girls’ sports.

“I appreciate President @realDonaldTrump signing an initiative to keep biological boys from competing against females,” Favre posted on X. “It’s sad that this had to happen in this day and age, but glad it was done.”

“Common sense at its best”

Earlier this month, Favre appeared on Fox News with Will Cain and responded to critics like Whoopi Goldberg, who asked on The View why this topic even matters.

“There’s nothing I can say that’s gonna change her mind—I can only shake my head at this,” Favre said. “It’s common sense at its best. Oh well, what can I say? Speechless.”

Trump’s executive order draws the line

On February 5, President Trump signed a sweeping executive order aimed at protecting women’s and girls’ sports from what he called “radical gender ideology.”

“No biological male should ever take the place of a female athlete,” Trump said during the signing ceremony. “We will defend the integrity of women’s sports with everything we’ve got.”

The move was praised by parents, coaches, and athletes across red states.

A growing national divide

The Oregon track controversy isn’t happening in a vacuum. Across the country, battles are raging over fairness, biology, and the future of girls’ sports.

According to a recent Gallup poll, 69% of Americans believe athletes should only compete in categories matching their birth sex.

“It’s not discrimination—it’s protection,” said former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines. “Young women deserve a fair playing field. We’re not asking for special treatment. We’re asking for basic equality.”

What’s next for Oregon?

While state officials in Oregon have not publicly commented on Gallagher’s wins, pressure is mounting. Local school boards are now facing calls for emergency meetings, and at least one state legislator hinted at potential legislation to address the issue.

“The people of Oregon deserve to have their voices heard,” Rep. Daniel Reese (R-Bend) said in a statement. “Our daughters should not be collateral damage in a social experiment.”

As the debate continues, one thing is clear—Brett Favre isn’t backing down.

“Use your head,” he said. “You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out.”

  1. tHIS SCHOOL NEED TO BE FINED BIG TIME FOR ALLOWING A TRANS MALE TP COMPETE AGAINST WOMEN!!! END OF STORY…RETAKE HIS AWARDS AND RECORDS.

  2. Women and girls can stop this. Refuse to participate with a biological male, and these freak shows will end. If only a trans runs in a race, sponsors will pull out, no one will attend, and action will have to be taken by the schools or other organizers.
In the meantime, my household has stopped buying Oregon wines.
