Hollywood Powerhouse Says He Was ‘Canceled’ for Backing Trump: “I Just Couldn’t Vote for Kamala”

In a stunning admission that’s sending shockwaves through both Hollywood and Washington, Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer says he felt “canceled” after revealing he voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

Grazer — long known as a top-tier film mogul and a Democratic donor — made the revelation in a Fox Nation documentary, Art of the Surge, where he appears in a VIP box at the Army-Navy game, smiling alongside Trump. The documentary, which chronicles the unexpected resurgence of traditional values in pop culture, includes never-before-seen footage of Grazer opening up about the backlash he faced for his political pivot.

“All the women looked in and go, ‘You mean, you’re not voting for Kamala?’” Grazer recalls. “And I go, ‘I just can’t do that.’ And then, one of them leaned in further, and said, ‘Are you voting for Trump?’ And I said, ‘I am.’ I swear!”

The backlash, he says, was immediate.

Grazer, 73, has been a pillar of liberal Hollywood for decades — producing iconic films like Apollo 13, 8 Mile, and the Academy Award-winning A Beautiful Mind. He co-founded Imagine Entertainment with director Ron Howard and was once a high-profile donor to Kamala Harris’ 2016 Senate run. But that was before he says he saw a shift.

“As a centrist, it was because I could feel and see Biden’s deterioration and the lack of direction in the Democratic Party at that time,” Grazer told The New York Times in an exclusive statement.

He’s not the only defector. A growing number of public figures have quietly — and sometimes publicly — begun to question the left’s orthodoxy, especially as concerns about the Biden administration’s competence continue to mount. But for someone like Grazer, who has been entrenched in Hollywood’s liberal elite, the fallout was swift.

According to insiders, Grazer’s admission has left some longtime colleagues stunned, with a few even cutting ties. “There’s an unspoken rule out here — you don’t go off script,” said one producer familiar with the situation. “Brian broke that rule.”

Still, Grazer appears unfazed. The legendary producer has always been a disruptor in the entertainment industry, and now he’s doing the same in politics.

Whether his stance will inspire others in Hollywood to speak out remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: even in the heart of liberal Tinseltown, Trump’s 2024 victory is still shaking the ground.
