In a profanity-laced tirade that stunned even her fellow Democrats, Kamala Harris reportedly snapped at a room full of state governors who were openly questioning Joe Biden’s fitness for office following his disastrous June 2024 debate against President Donald Trump.

Biden’s sole debate appearance against Trump in June 2024 quickly became the stuff of political legend — and not in a good way. The then-81-year-old president appeared dazed, incoherent, and at times utterly lost.

According to authors Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf, Harris convened with top Democratic governors — including Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer, California’s Gavin Newsom, and Illinois’ J.B. Pritzker — in a last-ditch attempt to keep the Biden ship from sinking. But instead of leadership, she brought rage.
