‘I Know It Sounds Crazy… But I Can’t Resist Getting in Trouble’
Comedian Kathy Griffin is once again stirring the pot—this time by claiming the 2024 presidential election was rigged against Joe Biden and that President Donald J. Trump didn’t actually win. Yes, even after Trump’s landslide victories in all seven swing states and record-breaking voter turnout, Griffin insists it was all a setup.
“I don’t think he won in a free and fair election this time,” the 64-year-old said during a livestream chat with writer and fellow Trump critic E. Jean Carroll. “People think I’m tinfoil hat, and I get it… but that’s just my humble opinion.”
Griffin’s defiant comments aired on her YouTube channel Tuesday, where she casually admitted she’s ready to “take a hit” for her controversial views. “I just had to put that out there because I can’t resist getting in trouble,” she added.
It’s not the first time Griffin has gone after Trump. She’s spent years publicly attacking the president, even losing major gigs after a 2017 stunt where she held up a bloodied prop of Trump’s severed head. Now she’s back—and her latest talking points sound more like a progressive Reddit thread than grounded political analysis.
Adding fuel to the fire, Griffin targeted Elon Musk, who served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) before stepping down in May. Musk had been tasked with trimming $2 trillion in federal waste and played a key role in shepherding Trump’s now-signed July 4th “Big, Beautiful Bill”—a sweeping economic overhaul celebrated by conservatives.
“I don’t trust the Elon connection,” Griffin declared. “It just doesn’t sit right with me.”
Carroll, who previously accused Trump of sexual misconduct decades ago, backed Griffin’s claims, saying there’s a “wave of people” who agree with her. “I’m not a conspiracy theorist,” Carroll said, before launching into one: “But something about him winning every swing state, all seven… it doesn’t sit right with me.”
During a separate conversation with Don Lemon—another media figure pushed out during Trump’s return to power—Griffin repeated the claim that “there was tampering.”
The Trump campaign has not responded directly to Griffin’s remarks, but officials close to the White House dismissed the allegations as “unhinged liberal coping.”
“President Trump won fair and square,” said a senior campaign advisor. “He flipped key states, turned out millions of new voters, and even got a higher share of the Latino and Black vote than any Republican in modern history. What more do they need—a personal text from every American who voted?”
With Democrats increasingly divided and doubling down on election denial themselves, Griffin’s latest outburst reflects a deeper panic setting in on the left. As for Trump, the 47th president is back in office—and clearly still living rent-free in Hollywood’s head.
