Chuck E. Cheese Mascot Arrested for Credit Card Fraud (Video)

What started as a wholesome children’s birthday party at a Florida Chuck E. Cheese ended in total chaos — after the star of the show was unmasked and dragged out by cops in a scene straight out of a crime comedy.

Parents screamed, kids cried, and the pizza nearly hit the floor as police stormed into the Tallahassee Chuck E. Cheese on Wednesday and placed the beloved mascot under arrest. But this wasn’t just any costumed performer — this was 32-year-old Jermell J. Jones, a man now facing serious fraud charges… all while wearing a sweaty cartoon mouse head.

Witnesses say the bizarre arrest went down right in the middle of a birthday party, with music blaring and confetti still falling. “One minute he was dancing with the kids, the next, he was in handcuffs,” said one stunned parent. “My daughter is traumatized. She thought the real Chuck E. Cheese got arrested!”

According to law enforcement, this wasn’t just a fluke. Police allege Jones has been on their radar for months, suspected of stealing credit card information and using it in multiple fraudulent transactions. Apparently, they finally decided to pounce — knowing exactly where to find him: in costume, entertaining children.

Authorities say Jones is now charged with theft of a credit card, criminal use of personal identification, and fraudulent use of credit cards on more than two occasions in the past six months. Court records suggest this was not his first fraudulent act — and may not be his last.

Jones was hauled off to jail in full costume and later booked on a $1,000 bond. He was released early Thursday morning, reportedly still wearing his Chuck E. Cheese pants and suspenders.

Social media quickly lit up with photos and video of the surreal takedown. One clip shows police pulling the giant mouse head off to reveal Jones’ face, to gasps from children. “It was like watching a cartoon villain get caught,” another parent posted. “Only this time, it was real.”

The Tallahassee Chuck E. Cheese has not released an official statement, but the franchise location is reportedly offering free game tokens to families affected by the incident.

As for Jones, he may go down in history as the most wanted mouse in America.

So next time you see Chuck E. Cheese grooving near your kid’s birthday cake — maybe keep one eye on your wallet… and the other on the exit.
