Wall Street wasn’t ready for this: CNBC’s outspoken anchor Jim Cramer stunned live viewers Monday, dropping an F-bomb in the middle of a segment celebrating President Donald Trump’s string of blockbuster trade deals and the surging U.S. economy.
During the popular financial program Squawk on the Street, Cramer was so floored by a graphic showing Trump’s latest economic wins—including a sweeping new trade agreement with the European Union—that he let slip, “What the f—!” before immediately apologizing.
“I’m so sorry, I take it right back,” Cramer repeated, hands in the air, as co-hosts David Faber and Carl Quintanilla tried to calm the situation. “It’s OK! We’re in the moment,” Faber reassured, with Quintanilla quipping, “Real people doing live TV.”
Cramer, clearly shaken and still marveling at the economic numbers, added, “No, I just feel like, enough with the rate cut talk. The economy’s booming!”
The cause of Cramer’s outburst? America’s red-hot economy under President Trump, now six months into his second term and riding a wave of trade deals that even his critics can’t ignore.
On Sunday, Trump made headlines after personally brokering a new pact with the European Union. Under the deal, most EU goods entering the U.S. will be hit with a 15% tariff—a move that Trump’s supporters say will protect American jobs and industries. In a stunning win for American workers, the EU also committed to purchase $150 billion in U.S. energy and invest $600 billion more in American markets.
Standing beside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at his Turnberry property in Scotland, Trump declared, “This is the art of the deal—America is done being ripped off!”
The new agreement came on the heels of a historic $550 billion investment pledge from Japan, following Trump’s whirlwind tour of Asia. “Japan will invest, at my direction, $550 billion into the United States, which will receive 90% of the profits,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “This deal will create hundreds of thousands of jobs—there has never been anything like it.”
With the stock market setting new records and job growth outpacing all projections, even Trump’s media critics are rethinking their dire predictions.
Liberal HBO host Bill Maher, a frequent Trump critic, recently admitted on his own podcast that he and others had “gotten it wrong” about Trump’s tough-on-China tariffs and pro-America trade policies.
“At the beginning, I thought the economy would tank by July 4th,” Maher told liberal pundit Brian Tyler Cohen. “But, that didn’t happen. We need to start with reality—not just hating Trump for the sake of it. That’s boring and dishonest.”
While Cramer’s language drew a quick apology both on air and on X (“I was too effusive in making my point about the great economy we have…”), many viewers shared his shock—and his enthusiasm.
Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) appeared on Fox News moments later, calling Trump’s economic track record “an undeniable hot streak.”
“Americans are seeing more jobs, rising wages, and a president who fights for them. It’s no wonder even CNBC can’t contain their excitement,” Cotton said.
