First Lady Melania Trump has put Hunter Biden on the hook for a staggering $1 billion — accusing the president’s rival’s son of spreading “false, defamatory, and salacious lies” linking her to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The move came after Biden claimed in an online video interview that Epstein had personally introduced Melania to Donald Trump. Her legal team calls the allegation “pure fiction.”
Fox News Digital obtained the Aug. 6 legal letter from her attorney, Alejandro Brito, to Hunter Biden and his lawyer Abbe Lowell. The letter orders Biden to retract the statements, take down the video, and issue a public apology — or face a massive lawsuit.
“Failure to comply will leave Mrs. Trump with no choice but to pursue any and all legal rights… to recover the overwhelming financial and reputational harm that you have caused,” Brito warned.
The remarks came from a YouTube interview posted earlier this month on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan. In it, Biden alleged, “Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. The connections are wide and deep.”
Brito fired back, calling the claims “reckless” and sourced from “serial fabulist” Michael Wolff — whose own article about Melania’s supposed Epstein ties was retracted by The Daily Beast after receiving a similar legal threat.
This isn’t the first time Melania Trump has gone to war over rumors tied to Epstein. Just last week, Democratic strategist James Carville opened his Politics War Room podcast with an on-air apology to the First Lady.
“We looked at what they complained about, and we took down the video and edited out those comments from the episode,” Carville said. “I take back these statements and apologize.”
A source close to the First Lady told Fox that Biden missed the Aug. 7 deadline to comply — and instead “leaked the letter to a friendly reporter,” signaling how “deeply concerned” he was about potential liability.
With Donald Trump back in the White House and the 2026 midterms looming, this clash is more than a personal spat — it’s political dynamite.
Biden, already facing multiple legal battles of his own, now has to contend with the prospect of a billion-dollar defamation case tied directly to the First Family.
“Given your vast history of trading on the names of others… it is obvious that you published these false and defamatory statements to draw attention to yourself,” Brito’s letter reads.
On social media, Melania posted a screenshot of Carville’s apology alongside a crossed-out video title reading, The Epstein Connection: Trump & Melania.
Her aide Nick Clemens told Fox News Digital: “The true account of how the First Lady met President Trump is in her best-selling book Melania. Her attorneys are ensuring immediate retractions and apologies from those who spread malicious falsehoods.”
The question now: Will Hunter Biden fold — or will this political powder keg explode in court?
