‘Feminist’ Actress Shocks Hollywood: “James Bond Has to be a Guy”

Hollywood’s feminist darling Helen Mirren just broke ranks with the woke crowd — admitting what millions of fans have said for years: James Bond should never be turned into a woman.

In a bombshell interview with Saga Magazine, the 78-year-old Oscar-winning actress declared, “I’m such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy. You can’t have a woman. It just doesn’t work.”

Her blunt words come as Amazon MGM, the studio that now controls the billion-dollar 007 franchise, pushes for what insiders call a “fresh, exotic” Bond — code language that many fans fear means a politically correct remake.

For years, progressive activists in Hollywood have demanded a female Bond, or even a gender-fluid or non-binary 007. The idea has been celebrated in left-wing media circles, but fans across America — and now Mirren herself — say it would destroy the character.

“James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something else,” Mirren explained. “I never liked the way women were treated in those films, but making Bond a woman doesn’t fix that. It just breaks the whole idea.”

Her comments highlight a growing divide in Hollywood. On one side are studio executives desperate to “modernize” beloved characters by rewriting their identities. On the other are audiences who feel their favorite franchises are being hijacked by cultural politics.

Mirren isn’t exactly a conservative voice. She has called herself a feminist for decades. But her comments now echo a sentiment heard in theaters across the country.

“Finally, someone in Hollywood is saying what we’ve all been thinking,” wrote one fan on social media. “We don’t need a female James Bond. Create new heroes for women — don’t erase the ones we already have.”

President Trump himself weighed in on the franchise years ago, once remarking that Hollywood’s obsession with “changing everything” was why movie theaters were going empty. That prediction has played out, with recent woke reboots like Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Disney’s Snow White remake tanking at the box office.

Daniel Craig’s final appearance as Bond was in 2021’s No Time to Die. Since then, names like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, and Harris Dickinson have been floated as possible replacements. Idris Elba — once heavily rumored — removed himself from the running after fan backlash.

Amazon MGM has promised to “surprise audiences” with its choice, but if Helen Mirren’s warning is any indication, a female or “reimagined” Bond could be the studio’s most explosive flop yet.

As Mirren herself put it: “More realistic? Maybe. But not so much fun as Bond!”
