Kamala Harris Launches Shocking Attack on Biden in Explosive Memoir

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is torching bridges in Washington — and possibly her own political future — with the release of her upcoming memoir, 107 Days, set to hit shelves September 23.

In excerpts published by The Atlantic, Harris lashes out at former President Joe Biden and his senior aides, painting a chaotic picture of a White House consumed by infighting, secrecy, and power struggles in the months leading up to Biden’s disastrous 2024 campaign.

Harris, now 60, does not mince words. She slams Biden’s decision to seek reelection despite clear concerns about his age and fitness for office, writing:

“Was it grace, or was it recklessness? In retrospect, I think it was recklessness.”

Biden’s 2024 campaign ultimately collapsed just days before the Democratic National Convention when mounting health and cognitive issues forced him to withdraw on July 21, 2024. Harris tried to pick up the pieces with a frantic sprint campaign — one that ultimately failed, ushering in President Donald Trump’s stunning return to the White House.

In what she describes as a calculated effort to sideline her, Harris accuses Biden’s inner circle of treating her as a “liability” rather than a governing partner.

“It was like a mantra inside the West Wing: ‘It’s Joe and Jill’s decision.’ That was the line, over and over again,” Harris writes. “I was the Vice President of the United States, yet I was rarely in the room where the real decisions were made.”

Harris claims Biden’s staff routinely blocked her from playing a visible role during his presidency, fearing that her success would outshine him.

“Their thinking was zero-sum. If I was shining, he was dimmed. They didn’t grasp that my success strengthened him,” she writes.

Her then–chief of staff, Lorraine Voles, allegedly had to “beg” Biden’s team to let Harris speak at campaign events. “She’s not a potted plant,” Voles reportedly snapped.

Harris also unloads on Biden’s communications team, accusing them of failing to defend her against relentless criticism — and sometimes actively feeding it.

“When Fox News attacked me on everything from my laugh, to my voice, to whom I dated in my 20s, the White House rarely pushed back,” Harris writes. “Instead of highlighting my record as a prosecutor, attorney general, and U.S. senator, they let the right define me.”

She claims Biden’s advisers leaked stories painting her office as “chaotic” with “unusually high staff turnover,” a narrative she says was exaggerated and weaponized against her.

While Harris insists Biden was “a smart guy,” she describes a president whose stamina collapsed under the pressures of the job. Brutal travel schedules and endless crises reportedly left him “tired” and “withdrawn” behind closed doors.

One unnamed former West Wing staffer confirmed to The Atlantic that Harris’s portrayal “isn’t far off,” adding:

“By late spring 2024, everyone knew Biden wasn’t up for the campaign. The tension between his team and Harris’s was toxic. They were at war inside the White House.”

Harris’s book comes at a delicate moment for Democrats, who are still struggling to recover from a brutal 2024 defeat that handed Republicans the White House and widened GOP control in Congress.

A senior Trump administration official responded to Harris’s revelations, telling The Daily Ledger:

“The American people deserve transparency. Harris is finally saying out loud what we all saw — the Biden presidency was a reckless gamble, and America paid the price.”

With her approval ratings underwater and her party fractured, Harris’s scorched-earth memoir could mark the end of her national ambitions. But it also shines a harsh spotlight on the dysfunction inside Biden’s White House — a reminder, Republicans argue, of why voters returned Trump to power in 2025.
