A wedding celebration in suburban New Hampshire descended into horror Saturday night when a gunman opened fire inside an upscale country club—shouting political slogans as he allegedly executed a man and wounded two others.
The violence erupted at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, a quiet city just north of the Massachusetts border. Authorities say the shooter—identified as Hunter Nadeau, 23—was taken into custody at the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, including wedding guest Tom Bartelson, the suspect yelled “Free Palestine!” and “The children are safe!” just moments before the shots rang out.
“We were just getting ready for the first dance when all hell broke loose,” Bartelson told the Associated Press. “He looked like he was targeting someone.”
The man killed has been identified as Steven DeCesare, 59. Officials say there was no known connection between DeCesare and the suspect. Two additional adults were also shot and injured, but their identities and medical conditions have not yet been released.
Nadeau is currently charged with second-degree murder, but additional charges are expected.
“We believe more charges will be forthcoming, including for the two other shooting victims,” said New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella in a statement Saturday night.
While officials have not confirmed a political motive, Nadeau’s outburst during the attack has sparked concern and speculation. His alleged shouts of “Free Palestine” come as international tensions remain high and pro-Palestinian activism has grown increasingly radicalized in some U.S. cities.
Former FBI counterterrorism agent Mark Rossini commented on the incident during a Fox News appearance Sunday morning:
“This could be an isolated act or it could be part of a broader trend of politically motivated violence. Either way, screaming political slogans before killing someone should raise red flags at the federal level.”
No federal terrorism charges have been filed yet, and the FBI has not publicly confirmed involvement in the case.
Emergency responders swiftly evacuated guests and turned a nearby hotel into a reunification center for terrified family members.
“We were hiding in the kitchen when police came in yelling for us to stay down,” said another wedding guest, who asked to remain anonymous. “It felt like a war zone.”
Ambulances and tactical units flooded the normally serene golf club, located within one of Nashua’s most exclusive neighborhoods.
With a suspect shouting “Free Palestine” and no clear motive identified, some conservatives are already pressing the Biden administration and DOJ to investigate whether this could qualify as domestic terrorism or ideologically driven violence.
“If the DOJ was serious about rooting out extremism, this would be on their radar,” said Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) in a post on X. “Will they investigate this as aggressively as they would a MAGA grandma walking into the Capitol rotunda?”
Nadeau is expected to be arraigned Monday in Nashua District Court. Authorities have not released details about his background, prior criminal record, or ideological affiliations.
As of Sunday morning, police said the motive remains “under active investigation.

Visit every school, college and other places that teach far-left ideas and shut them down. Stop funding most of the colleges we now have due to their far-left leaning and the professors, leaders, teachers force onto our children. Teaching in a professional manner all sides of any topic is ok, just stop their and don’t allow people our kids look up to in colleges across America twist the kids minds just so that the professors get what THEY want and not caring about the learners. There is absolutely no way that these shootings are made at random. There is a saying in law enforcement that “there is no such thing as coincidence”. I would bet dollars to donuts that if tocology reports were released you would see that each of this so called random shooters have high levels of drugs in their systems. I believe that these killings have been carried out under a carefully thought out plan and put into motion going back to the Columbine shooting.
