Kamala Harris Claims 13 Marines Died Under Biden’s Watch in Shocking Swipe

Kamala Harris has unleashed a political bombshell — and it lands squarely on Joe Biden.

In her just-released memoir 107 Days, the former vice president describes the night she sat stunned as Biden, then the Democratic incumbent, fumbled through a 2024 debate with Donald Trump. His gaffe? Forgetting the 13 American service members slaughtered in Kabul during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.

“It was one of the easiest questions he could have nailed,” Harris wrote. “He had material for days. Trump calling our fallen soldiers ‘suckers and losers.’ But instead, he claimed no one died overseas on his watch. How could he overlook Kabul?”

The debate in Atlanta was already considered a disaster for Biden. He coughed, lost his train of thought, and delivered answers that made even his own allies squirm. But Harris says the low point came when he stumbled on a question about the military.

Harris recalls watching in disbelief as Biden tried to boast that he was “the only president this century” without American combat deaths — only to erase from memory the deadliest moment of his presidency. “I’d been on Air Force Two when it happened,” Harris wrote. “We rerouted to DC as the news broke. I couldn’t believe he left them out.”

Adding insult to injury, Harris herself flubbed the details. In her book, she repeatedly refers to the fallen as “13 Marines.” In reality, eleven Marines, one soldier, and one Navy corpsman were killed in the suicide bombing at Abbey Gate.

For families of the fallen, Biden’s omission wasn’t just a debate slip. It was salt in the wound. Parents of the slain had already accused his administration of negligence. “The administration killed my son,” one grieving father told reporters at the time. Others blasted both Biden and Harris as indifferent, recalling how the president checked his watch during the dignified transfer ceremony.

Florida Republican Rep. Mike Waltz called Biden’s conduct “a slap in the face to every Gold Star family.”

The Kabul debacle did more than destroy Biden’s credibility. Critics, including Sen. Ted Cruz, argued it signaled weakness that emboldened Russia and paved the way for global chaos. The Taliban quickly retook Afghanistan, raising their black flag over Kabul just as Biden promised “peace.”

Now, under President Trump’s return to the White House, Republicans are eager to remind Americans of Biden’s failures. “That day told the world America was on its knees,” one GOP strategist said. “It’s why voters brought Trump back.”

Harris’ memoir doesn’t just recount her short-lived 2024 campaign after Biden dropped out. It also paints a portrait of a president she claims was visibly diminished. “No light in his eyes, no expression in his voice,” she wrote of Biden’s performance.

Still, she tried to soften her blow with a nod to his intentions. “I know his deep feelings for those men and women. It’s personal to him,” she wrote. Yet her very inclusion of the anecdote has sparked a firestorm — and renewed scrutiny over Biden’s leadership in what many now call one of the greatest U.S. foreign policy blunders in modern history.

Harris is set to promote her book on tour stops in New York, San Francisco, and London. But for Republicans, her words have already done the work: reopening old wounds, and reminding voters why Biden’s presidency crumbled under the weight of Kabul.
