Turning Point USA is gearing up to go head-to-head with Bad Bunny — by hosting its own Super Bowl halftime event.
On October 9, the conservative youth organization announced The All-American Halftime Show, promising a celebration of “faith, family, and freedom” in what appears to be a direct counter to the NFL’s decision to feature the Puerto Rican superstar.
In a statement on X, the group wrote: “HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT… Turning Point USA is thrilled to announce The All-American Halftime Show. Performers and event details coming soon.”
The group’s website encourages fans to sign up and select the types of music they want to hear, with options like “Classic Rock,” “Country,” “Pop,” and “Worship.”
“America’s ready for a halftime show that actually represents America,” one Turning Point supporter wrote online.
The announcement follows fierce backlash from conservatives over the NFL’s decision to book Bad Bunny for next February’s halftime show.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was among the first to blast the move, calling it “demonic.”
“Bad Bunny says America has 4 months to learn Spanish before his perverse, unwanted performance,” Greene wrote on X. “It would be a good time to pass my bill to make English the official language of America.”
Critics quickly pushed back, reminding her that Bad Bunny — born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — is an American citizen from Puerto Rico. “He’s more American than Melania Trump,” one user snapped.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also chimed in, warning that ICE agents will be “all over” the Super Bowl.
“I have the responsibility for making sure everybody goes to the Super Bowl, enjoys it, and leaves safely,” Noem told podcaster Benny Johnson. “We’re going to enforce the law. People should not be coming to the Super Bowl unless they’re law-abiding Americans who love this country.”
Asked for her take on Bad Bunny’s selection, she didn’t mince words: “They suck and we’ll win. God will bless us and we’ll stand proud of ourselves at the end of the day.”
Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski backed her up, saying, “There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else.”
Turning Point’s All-American Halftime Show appears set to become the latest front in the culture war over who defines “American entertainment.”
While Bad Bunny is expected to draw one of the largest global audiences in Super Bowl history, Turning Point’s rival event is already rallying a base eager for something “more patriotic.”
As one user quipped, “The NFL can have Bad Bunny. We’ll take God, guitars, and freedom.”
