Conservative Actor Fighting Back After Hollywood ‘Turned Its Back on Him’

Actor Zachary Levi isn’t sugarcoating it: Hollywood doesn’t like truth-tellers — especially ones who question Kamala Harris, call out Big Pharma, or dare to support President Donald J. Trump.

“I might go so far as to say I was graylisted,” Levi told Fox News Digital. “I’m still working, and I’m grateful. But there are people in this industry who flat-out won’t hire me anymore — not because I’m not talented, but because I spoke up.”

Now, with his powerful new film Sarah’s Oil hitting theaters, Levi is doing what many in conservative America have long hoped an A-list actor would do — take a stand, build something new, and fight back.

Levi, best known for roles in Shazam! and Chuck, said the pushback started when he questioned the safety of Pfizer’s COVID response and criticized the Democratic Party’s hard-left drift during the 2024 election.

“I said Kamala Harris wasn’t the right choice — because she wasn’t. And I questioned the lies we were fed by the media and corporate giants like Pfizer,” he said. “That was enough to put me on a hit list.”

Though Levi says he’s not a conservative — describing himself as a “libertarian” — he said the overlap between liberty-minded Americans and Trump Republicans has grown in recent years.

“Libertarian values — freedom of speech, individual rights, bodily autonomy — those used to be bipartisan. But now, they’re treated like right-wing talking points.”

And as 2025 continues to reveal more about corporate collusion and COVID-era misinformation, Levi says he feels vindicated.

Levi’s new film, Sarah’s Oil, tells the remarkable true story of Sarah Rector, an 11-year-old Black girl in early 1900s Oklahoma who struck oil and became one of America’s first Black female millionaires.

“She believed God told her there was oil on her land,” Levi explained. “And she was right. It’s a story about faith, vision, and fighting for what’s yours — against government overreach and systemic prejudice.”

Despite the film’s themes of diversity, faith, and perseverance, Levi said Hollywood gatekeepers were oddly hesitant.

“I thought it would be a slam dunk. But studios dragged their feet. They loved the story — but not the values.”

Produced by Amazon and Kingdom Story Company, Sarah’s Oil finally got made — but Levi says it wouldn’t have happened without pushing through the politics.

Fed up with the ideological gatekeeping of the entertainment elite, Levi is now building his own $100 million movie studio in Texas — Wyldwood Studios, just outside Austin.

“It’s not a conservative studio. It’s a freedom studio,” he said. “No agendas, just great storytelling.”

Backed by partners like Angel Studios (known for The Chosen and Sound of Freedom), Kingdom Story, and Wonder Projects, Wyldwood aims to become the home for faith-friendly, freedom-first entertainment.

“I want to make movies that entertain, uplift, and challenge people — without shoving ideology down their throats.”

Levi says he’s not trying to be the “anti-Hollywood,” but rather, a place where artists can create without fear of being canceled for their beliefs.

As President Trump prepares for his 2026 State of the Union, and more red-state creators ditch Los Angeles, Levi believes the tide is turning.

“More people are waking up. The ‘woke’ monster is fading. You’ve got actors, writers, even directors reaching out to me, saying, ‘How do I get involved?’”

Levi says he’s committed to speaking out — even when it costs him — because silence is what got America into this mess.

“I’m just trying to speak truth in love. That’s it. Say what you believe. Be kind. Be honest. But don’t back down.”
